Devin Strader may go down in Bachelor Nation history as the most hated contestant. He was the frontrunner on Jenn Tran’s season of The Bachelorette. Devin was the last man standing after she sent Marcus Shoberg home after their overnight date.
Jenn proposed to Devin in the season finale and then he proposed to her. But viewers didn’t get to see a happy ending. Jesse Palmer revealed on the After the Final Rose special that Devin ended their engagement during a phone call in August.
She went on to detail how he pulled away and admitted to regretting the proposal. The backlash was swift. A week after the season finale aired, he took to social media to share his side of the story.
Part of his side included hundreds of text messages from Jenn Tran, including a few NSFW ones. After more backlash, he deleted the entire video that included the texts.
But not before the messages were screenshotted and passed around on various social media platforms. Jenn Tran finally broke her silence on the embarrassing situation while on Nick Viall’s Viall Files podcast.
He posted a teaser on his Instagram before the episode dropped. Season 18 Bachelorette Katie Thurston left a shady comment.

Backstory On Her Comment
At first glance, the comment seems to be aimed at Devin Strader. But long-time Bachelor Nation fans know it was meant for someone else. For Nick Viall, actually.
Nick, Katie, and Nick’s now-wife, Natalie Joy, have a feud that started a few years ago. A Bachelor Nation fan on Reddit explained more context. “This is all over Katie saying Nick is blocked in a video or Q&A,” they wrote.
Another added even more backstory.
“Nick Viall shared private messages between him and Katie a few years back on his podcast. So Katie is pointing out the hypocrisy of Nick acting like a moral authority on Devin sharing the texts.”
Many Bachelor Nation fans loved Katie Thurston’s subtle take-down of Nick Viall, with more than one person calling her iconic.
Katie Thurston previously spoke out on her Instagram Story about Jenn Tran being forced to watch her proposal to Devin after revealing they had split.
