‘DWTS’ Producer Happy To Have Anna Delvey On Season 33
Dancing With The Stars typically features one controversial contestant. For Season 33, that competitor is con artist Anna Delvey. While many DWTS viewers, including the cast of The View, expressed their distaste on casting Delvey, several are happy to have her around.
In a new interview, producer Conrad Green defended his choice to invite Anna Delvey to the show.
Conrad Green Sticks Up For Anna Delvey
In a new interview with Variety, producer Conrad Green spoke about the upcoming season.
“I think this is a very appealing cast. There’s so much good energy around them,” he told the publication, expressing enthusiasm for contestants who love the show.
Naturally, this prompted the publication to ask about Delvey.
“There’s been a bit of backlash around the casting of Anna Delvey this year, since she was a convicted felon and had to get permission from ICE to compete. What do you say to that?” Variety asked Green.
“We’ve always tried to be a very broad church when it comes to the types of people, the types of backgrounds, the types of stories we have on the show,” he replied. “Anna is fascinating to a lot of people, a lot of people have watched the dramas about her life and have followed her story, so I think there is an inherent curiosity about her.”
Green went on to share that he finds Delvey incredibly interesting and speculates the public wants to see her too.

“Yes, she had the issues she’s had, but we’ve had other people on the show who’ve had criminal issues in the past. She served her time. I think it’s perfectly valid for her to be on the show, and I think people have been really curious to see how she performs.”
The Con Artist Bedazzles Her Ankle Monitor
It’s perfectly legal for Anna Delvey to compete on DWTS, but she has to wear her ankle monitor the entire time. As such, she and her partner Ezra Sosa decided to use it as an accessory. In a new TikTok, Ezra made the big reveal, sharing the ankle monitor covered in brilliant rhinestones.

Ezra’s TikTok followers found the situation incredibly amusing. However, the broader Dancing With The Stars audience in general might find it in poor taste. On premiere night, viewers will undoubtedly share their opinions online.
