Taylor Swift To Attend VMAs Without Travis Kelce

Taylor Swift will be attending the 2024 VMAs without Travis Kelce. Taylor Swift will be more than likely attending the event as she is the most nominated artist of the year. So why won’t Travis be joining her for this special occasion?

Taylor Swift is one of the most famous pop stars in the world, closing in on the end of her almost two-year world tour, The Eras Tour. Travis Kelce is the tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs were the winners of the 2024 Super Bowl so their relationship is practically out of a movie.

The two have been dating for quite some time now as Taylor has attended multiple Kansas City Chief games and he has been to multiple of her Eras Tour concerts, even joining her on stage. Additionally, Swift posted a picture in June of her meeting the Prince of Wales and his children, and Kelce was also in the picture.

The 34-year-old singer has been quite unlucky in love but has made a good career out of it. She has even gone as far as saying, “If guys dont want me to write bad songs about them then, they shouldn’t do bad things.” Hopefully, Travis’ absence from the 2024 VMAs doesn’t warrant him a not-so-friendly track on Swift’s next album.

Taylor Can’t Feel ‘So High School’ Without Him

Unfortunately, Swift will be attending the VMAs at UBS Arena in Elmont, NY solo this year. Sadly, a source revealed to Page Six that the Super Bowl winner will be off completing his football duties and has to be back in Kansas City by Tuesday for practice. It seems the work of a football star is never done which is likely for Taylor to understand as her work as a singer/songwriter is also never done.

Kelce’s team is surely preparing for their upcoming game on September 15th at 4:25 ET against the Cincinnati Bengals. The Chiefs just won against the Baltimore Ravens 27-20 with Swift present in the VIP suite alongside Kelce’s parents.

After the game, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce flew to New York for some events. Reportedly, the couple attended a wedding, the US Open, and a couple of dinner dates.

Breaking Records

Swift has 12 nominations to look forward to at the VMAs on Thursday, September 12th at 8 pm EDT. Fans can anxiously watch the reveals on MTV. Even if the singer might be a little sad to attend the possibly life-changing event without her boyfriend, she’s made it clear that she can “do it with a broken heart.”

Swift is up for video of the year, song of the year, song of the summer, best direction, best cinematography, best editing, and best visual effects. In addition to those, she is up for best art direction, best collaboration with Post Malone, artist of the year, best pop and VMAs most iconic performance.

At just 34 years old, Swift has 23 VMAs. Currently holding the title for the most is Beyoncé with 29. Therefore, if Swift can get 7 she will be in the lead and beat the other musical legend which seems very likely with the success of the Tortured Poets Department. Taylor is confident in her success as she even states at the end of her “I Can Do It With A Broken Heart” song, “Try to come for my job.”
