Paula Abdul Forced To Cancel Canada Tour, Why?
Paula Abdul was recently forced to cancel her tour in Canada. What happened with the singer and former American Idol judge to cause this?
Paula Abdul Is Still Active On The Music Scene
An entirely new generation of viewers met Paula Abdul as one of the original American Idol judges. At the time, many people may not have been aware that before taking up a chair in the middle of Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell, Paula had a pretty solid music career of her own.
Abdul got her start as a dancer for the Los Angeles Lakers. She then put together a pretty impressive pop music career. She certainly knows a thing or two about being in the spotlight and thriving in it. All these years later, she continues to perform as well.
Abdul Cancels Canada Tour, Why?
The Grammy winner has been gearing up for her tour of Canada. This is something that she has been promoting and hyping up for some time. Unfortunately, the trip up north had to be canceled recently. Certainly, this is not good news for any fans who already bought tickets to her shows.
It turns out, the singer broke the bad news in a lengthy post on Twitter/X, saying: “It’s with an incredibly heavy heart that I need to share with you an update regarding some injuries I’ve recently sustained. In an effort to keep going, I’ve received targeted injections that will allow me temporary relief, but the demands of an entire tour is a different story.”
What Happens Now For Paula Abdul?
Abdul continued: “After multiple consultations with my doctors and exploring all available options, I’ve been advised that one of my injuries requires a minor procedure followed by a 6-8 week recovery time, therefore it will prohibit me from proceeding with the Straight Up! To Canada Tour as well as the dates in Alaska and North Dakota.”
Paula Abdul went on to add that refunds would be issued for anyone who already bought tickets. She updated her fans on everything that has been going on with this situation. Abdul also thanked her followers for their support during this difficult time.
Thank you for your love, your patience, and your understanding during this time.
With all my love and gratitude,

While it’s never ideal to have to cancel an entire tour, especially for someone like Abdul who still loves to perform, it would be much worse if she pushed herself and injured herself even more as a result. The singer went on to promise that she would come back “stronger and better,” so, that’s certainly something for fans to look forward to in the future.
