Pat Sajak Will Return to ‘Celebrity Wheel Of Fortune’ Once More

Pat Sajak will return to Celebrity Wheel of Fortune once more before Ryan Seacrest officially takes over as host. The official date of his return has just been announced and it will be his final time hosting the show.

Pat Sajak Takes One Last Spin

The legendary game show, Wheel of Fortune has showcased Sajak as host for 43 years. His longtime run has come to an end and he will be retiring from the show.

Sajak announced his departure in June of 2023. He said he would go until the end of the 41st season and Seacrest would succeed him. Vanna White will be staying on as co-host until 2026 based on her contract. Sajak’s last official show was on June 7th, 2024.

Sajak was all set to retire from the game show and pass off hosting to Ryan, just not for the celebrity version. Furthermore, through his contract, Sajak had one more year of hosting duties on Celebrity Wheel of Fortune to do. Thus, he is not completely retired and fans will get a little more Sajak and his one-liners until he is gone for good.

Usually, Celebrity Wheel of Fortune airs approximately ten episodes per season. Sajak has reportedly been filming the series since July. Even though he will no longer be hosting after the final run, he will serve as supervising producer for the next three years so he will still have a part in making the show special.

Wheel of Fortune has confirmed that this is the last time Sajak will host any parts of the show so this will be the final surprise appearance. He will live on in YouTube clips from previous episodes.

New Season and New Host

Ryan Seacrest is the longtime host of American Idol so this is a switch for him. A little similar to what he will be doing, Seacrest co-hosted and was executive producer of Live With Kelly and Ryan.

However, Seacrest left the show after six seasons. He revealed that his departure was due to his want to focus on his other career positions. These other jobs were host of American Idol, his KIIS-FM radio show: On Air With Ryan Seacrest, and Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. Additionally, he wanted to focus on his charity, Ryan Seacrest Foundation Studios.

Yet, Seacrest is adding another show to his plate once again so fans will see how he fits into the big game show shoes Sajak has left to be filled.

After the premiere of the next season of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune, more celebrities will join the new host, most likely every week but none have been revealed as of yet. Seacrest has already begun filming the season and according to the New York Times has signed a contract to host well into the 2030’s.

Pat Sajak will be hosting for the last time alongside Vanna White on October 14th on ABC and Hulu.
