‘Love Is Blind’ Shaina Hurley Diagnosed Cancer 3 Months Pregnant
Love Is Blind celeb Shaina Hurley caused a lot of drama in her season of the Netflix show. However, none of that compares to the real-life cancer drama she faced while pregnant. What happened to her, and how is she doing now?
Love Is Blind: Shaina Hurley Was In A Love Triangle During Her Season
Love Is Blind Season 2 took place in Chicago. It introduced Netflix viewers to an interesting batch of new cast members, including Natalie Lee, Shayne Jansen, and Shaina Hurley. One of the risks that happens when you have a group of people all dating each other is that more than one person may end up liking one individual.
In Shayne’s case, even though he was committed to moving forward with Natalie initially, Shaina was always in the back of his mind as someone he let get away. The way Natalie felt about it, this sabotaged her chances of building something genuine with Shayne while he was still hung up on Shaina.
Shaina Moved On With A New Man And More
Whenever someone does not find love on a reality dating show like Netflix’s Love Is Blind, who they end up dating next is always a topic of interest among fans. In Shaina’s case, she ended up finding a new man, and things got pretty serious between them.
Things moved pretty quickly between Shaina and her new man, a guy named Christos Lardakis. The pair tied the knot in July of 2022, and they were soon expecting their first child. All things considered, this certainly moved pretty fast for the pair. Unfortunately for Shaina, there was more drama to come.
Love Is Blind: Shaina Found Out She Had Cancer While Pregnant
According to Love Is Blind celeb Shaina Hurley, she recently revealed that she had cervical cancer three months into her pregnancy. Shaina told PEOPLE: “I had no symptoms. But later, the doctor called me and said the pap smear results had come back as abnormal and they needed to get me in for a colposcopy.”
Shaina Hurley went on to add: “The problem is, I was pregnant. [The] cervix is what holds pregnancy. I was at just around three months and so I would most likely lose the baby. At that point, I just couldn’t risk it.”
Doctors suggested that Shaina give birth at 32 weeks so as to keep the cancer from potentially spreading. However, Shaina Hurley stuck to her guns, welcoming a healthy baby boy named Yiorgos David, in February.

Ultimately, it took two tries for the cold knife conization procedure to stick and be a success. As of this past June, Shaina revealed that she is officially cancer-free.
She still has to go in for regular check-ups and monitoring, but, considering everything she had to endure to get to this point, including a mini-stroke after giving birth, she proved herself to be a true fighter, and she now has everything she ever wanted, a happy family of three and no cancer.
