Matt Lauer’s Daughter Busted For Fleeing Scene Of Accident

Matt Lauer is in the news again. This time, it has nothing to do with him, but it is all about his daughter, Romy. It seems that Romy was involved in a car accident, but she fled the scene in her vehicle before anyone could show up. The police have now issued a summons for her to appear in court to answer for the accident.

Matt Lauer’s Daughter Involved In Accident, Flees The Scene

Matt Lauer’s daughter, Romy, was reportedly involved in an accident over the Fourth of July holiday. However, from the accounts of the incident, she fled the accident scene before anyone could show up to file a report about the damage done.

The reports indicate the 20-year-old crashed her car into a fence and sign in the Hamptons over the July Fourth weekend. However, rather than remain there to answer for the single-car accident, she reportedly left, and police had to figure out who did the damage to do anything about it.

When Romy’s Jeep Wrangler was involved in the accident, the license plate fell off the vehicle. While Romy left and never looked back, her license plate led the police to her and showed she might have been responsible for the damage. A summons was issued for leaving the scene of an accident.

The accident reportedly was made to the police on July 5 at 4 a.m. The 911 call reported a crash on North Sea Mecox Road. A concerned resident thought someone might have been hurt. The police arrived and found the fence and sign were down. That is when they discovered the license plate.

Romy was in the area, as she had posted a TikTok from the night before at a sushi spot in nearby Water Mill.

Romy is the daughter of Matt Lauer and his ex-wife, model Annette Roque. This is likely just a ticketable offense and she will likely have to pay restitution for the damages. However, she has hired a powerful attorney.

What Is Next For Matt Lauer’s Daughter?

Romy hired local powerhouse attorney Edward Burke Jr. According to reports, he is “currently involved in the case and resolving this for Ms. Lauer” (via Page Six).
