‘Bold & Beautiful’ Fans Slam Producers For ‘Cringe’ Recasting
Bold & Beautiful fans are sounding off about the recasting of Taylor Haynes. The beloved character has been played by more than one actress over the years, but viewers aren’t loving the latest recast. Many people are saying “It just doesn’t work.” Here is what led to Taylor’s recasting.
Recasting Taylor Haynes Over The Years
Taylor Haynes is known in the world of Bold & Beautiful as a popular psychiatrist. She first appeared on the soap opera in June of 1990 and was played by Hunter Tylo.
In 1994, Hunter Tylo left the soap but returned a few months later. Then, she left again after she was cast on Melrose Place. However, she came back to B&B before the character was killed off in October 2002.
Two years later, Hunter reprised the role on Bold & Beautiful as Taylor’s ghost. As often happens in the soap world, it was revealed that Taylor never actually died and Hunter returned as a regular cast member in April 2005. She continued to act in the role until July 2013.
Over the years, she would return to the soap for guest appearances. In 2021, Bold & Beautiful recast the character. Krista Allen took on the role of Taylor Haynes until November 2023.
Now, a new face has stepped into the role and fans aren’t thrilled.
Bold & Beautiful Fans Not Impressed With New Taylor
Rebecca Budig has been cast as Taylor on the beloved soap opera. B&B fans have taken to social media to express their dislike for the new actress. “Nothing personal against the new Taylor recast but…..this just doesn’t work,” one fan wrote on Reddit.
They continued, stating that they weren’t familiar with any of Rebecca’s previous work, but they acknowledged that she is talented. Talent isn’t the issue here, they simply think “she doesn’t fit in this role.”
“I tried all week, and each time she got into a dialogue requiring historical references, I cringed,” the person said. “Didn’t buy it.” They pointed out that maybe it has something to do with her age, pointing out that Rebecca appears “too young to be legitimately mother to Steffy.”
Bold & Beautiful fans adored the original Taylor Haynes (Hunter Tylo). When she left, it was hard for long-time viewers to get used to Krista, but they did. Something about Krista’s abrupt departure from the soap is unsettling for fans.
The recasting feels “forced” and “unwelcome” for many.
Others are willing to give Rebecca Budig a chance. One Reddit user chimed in, “I will hold my judgment for a few months, as we go through this with every recast. If she still feels off in a few months, then I will complain.”
When it was teased that Taylor Haynes would make a comeback in the current Bold & Beautiful storyline, fans were eager to see Krista return.
The former B&B star previously opened up about her decision to leave the soap. She has said it was the “right move” for her, but she believed that Taylor still needed to be part of the story.
“Taylor is needed. There’s a big fanbase that wants to see her be there for her kids, and who want to see this woman they’ve loved for decades find happiness,” she said. But fans aren’t convinced producers have found the right fit.

I remember this woman as Hayden on GH. She is way too young to be Steffy & Thomas’ mother. Scenes have seen so far she looks like Steffy’s big sister. Put her next To Brooke & she instantly ages Brooke because she is really very young & at least 10 years younger than Brooke & Ridge. Bad , bad decision guys

I agree because the writers just re hatch the Brooke-Taylor-Ridge threesome and it is getting old. let Ridge and Brooke live their life and be happy because that love story is the reason I watch B&B.
She was great as Hayden on GH. Was hoping she’d come back. As far as being Taylor it’s a definite NO for me. Not only her age is much younger but she’s too small for the part too. The original Taylor is the ONLY Tayler to me
Why did B&B let Krista go. At least she looked the part. I liked her too. BB is only for Brooke lovers. I am tired of the show. They need new people with interesting storylines.
This new Taylor does not fit ! She’s way too young to be steffy and Thomas’s mom ! She blows into town when she feels like it and acts like she’s been there all the time, acting like the caring and loving mom ! There’s really no need for her, she’s so very rarely around !!

Yes, the current new actress in the role of Taylor is ALL WRONG! Actually though the writers SHOULD NOT HAVE BROUGHT TAYLOR BACK!!!!! The same old, same old story line and for Taylor to be a renowned psychiatrist she should know better to MOVE ON with her life! Also the BITTER Stephanie needs to grow up and move beyond the feelings she has about her Mommy & Daddy not being together and TOTALLY blaming Brooke. “It takes TWO to tango!”
