Artem Chigvintsev Accused Of Violence On ‘Strictly’ Amid Arrest
Dancing With The Stars fans were shocked and appalled yesterday to learn that Season 29 champion Artem Chigvintsev was arrested on domestic battery charges. The arrest came just days after he and former WWE superstar Nikki Garcia celebrated their wedding anniversary in Napa.
So far, the family has stayed silent about the incident and subsequent arrest on social media. Fans remain concerned for Nikki, their son Matteo, and the family overall.
But Artem Chigvintsev’s arrest is also prompting the public to examine his past behavior more closely.
This Isn’t The First Time Artem Chigvintsev Was Accused Of Violent Behavior
TMZ broke the shocking news regarding Artem’s arrest. As of the morning of August 30, there are still many unknowns regarding the violent situation. The victim’s identity is still also unknown, but police records indicate it was either his spouse or someone living in the home.
While the public waits for updates, old reports of Artem’s violent behavior are bubbling back to the surface.
In a 2015 interview with The Huffington Post UK, Fern Britton said Artem Chigvintsev was incredibly rude to her while they competed on Strictly Come Dancing.
“He would look at my feet and just kick me or shove me,” Britton said about their time together in the ballroom. The Russian dancer allegedly told her that she should just stand in place and he would dance around her.

“He was like, ‘Shut your face. Go home before I kill you,'” she continued. “I would say, ‘Oh please just kill me, it would be easier.’ Or what was his other one? ‘If you go for a cup of tea now, I will blow off like an atomic bomb.’ I thought, well I won’t correct him on that one.”

However, Artem Chigvintsev claimed Britton’s allegations were entirely false.
“Recent statements apparently made by Fern Britton, whilst not reflecting any situation I recognize, are difficult to ignore,” he said in a statement to The Express UK. “I believe I treated Fern with respect and genuine care, and these claims about me are the opposite of everything I believe in and the person I am. I cannot imagine what has prompted such statements which come as a shock to me.”
Ballroom Seems To Have An Ongoing Issue With Aggression
Artem Chigvintsev’s arrest comes as Strictly Come Dancing deals with the allegations surrounding former pro dancer Graziano Di Prima. The series parted ways with him after he allegedly kicked his celebrity dance partner, Zara McDermott, last series. Di Prima initially apologized for the incident. But weeks later, he walked back his version of events and proclaimed his innocence.
Artem Chigvintsev will not be part of DWTS Season 33, which premieres in just a few weeks. It doesn’t seem that he received an invitation to join the season before his arrest. However, this new turn of events makes it very unlikely there will be a place for him on the show in the future.

bullies never win and he always appeared as a bully.
I hope its not true that it’s not Nikki. maybe some unruly house guests. I just can’t see him attacking anyone. Have to wait and see.
