DWTS Season 33 will come to ABC on Tuesday nights this fall. However, there will be a bit of a hiccup in the schedule.

Disruptions happen each and every year due to a wide range of factors. But since this is an election year, debates are thrown into the mix. An upcoming Vice Presidential debate this fall will impact Dancing With The Stars, prompting the network to shake things up a bit.

Read on to learn more about the upcoming debate and see how ABC will accommodate DWTS Season 33 viewers.

ABC Moves One DWTS Season 33 Episode In October

It’s not at all uncommon for regularly scheduled DWTS episodes to shift a little. Football is usually the culprit, but this year the Vice Presidential debate is responsible.

ABC is adjusting its Tuesday programming to accommodate the upcoming debate between Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Ohio Senator JD Vance. The debate will take place on Tuesday, October 1.

As per Deadline, ABC is shifting gears and will not feature a Dancing With The Stars episode that night. Instead, there will be two episodes the following week on Monday, October 7, and Tuesday, October 8.

That will give the Season 33 contestants more time to work on their routines. However, that will also likely mean a double elimination that week. After all the hard work contestants put into the show, going home is always a heartbreaking experience.

The Full Cast List Comes Out On September 4

So far, the DWTS Season 33 casting department has been pretty tight-lipped about this year’s competitors. Olympian Stephen Nedoroscik is the only confirmed competitor so far. Pro dancer Witney Carson also confirmed she will return. But as for the rest of the cast, that’s still anyone’s guess.

Many fans believe The Bachelor star Joey Graziadei will compete this year, or Gerry Turner from The Golden Bachelor. Insider Krystin Burtt also indicated that this cast could be much smaller than in previous years. Approximately 10-11 couples are expected to compete this fall.

Until the full cast list comes out, it’s difficult to guess how many episodes Season 33 will run for. However, many fans expect it all to wrap up before December. Season 32 nearly stretched into the Christmas holidays, making it one of the longest seasons to date. Budget cuts at ABC indicate that the series will likely wrap up sooner rather than later.
