Fans have been begging for a fourth season of the hit series Ted Lasso. Originally, it was said the series was ending after three seasons and there seemed to be very little hope for it to continue. However, die-hard fans are not giving up and now it seems like Season 4 is closer to becoming a reality. Keep reading to find out what is known now.

Ted Lasso Season 4 Has New Developments

Fans are eager to see Ted Lasso return for Season 4. It seemed all but hopeless as the show’s head writer and star Jason Sudeikis said they did not ever have plans to go past Season 3. However, with fans demanding more it seems to be closer to reality than ever before. Deadline shared details of this new development.

Warner Bros. Television has reportedly picked up the options on the three original cast members who had been contracted under the aegis of the UK acting union Equity. They are Hannah Waddingham, who plays AFC Richmond owner Rebecca Walton. There is also Brett Goldstein, who plays hardman Roy Kent. Plus, Jeremy Swift, who plays Director of Football Operations Leslie Higgins.

There are others who have not renewed their options yet such as Jason Sudeikis who plays Ted Lasso and Brendan Hunt who portrays Coach Beard. They also have not signed Juno Temple who plays Keeley Jones just yet.

With all that said, one popular character will likely not make a return due to scheduling conflicts. That is Phil Dunster who played Jamie Tart.

The Future Lies In Sudeikis Hands

A Season 4 for Ted Lasso has always been in the hands of Jason Sudeikis. He fought against a fourth season for quite some time. However, it seems he is most likely on board with it since the options have been renewed for some of the actors.

If all goes according to plan, it is rumored that perhaps production could start in early 2025.
