Moreover, in a conversation with Deadline, Dungey addressed the possibility of a potential spinoff. Although the story and the characters have become so memorable among fans, Dungey maintained that he doesn’t want a spinoff just for the sake of it. She explained, “When you think of Ted Lasso, you obviously think of that unforgettable character. But I do think that when you’re doing a spinoff for a spinoff’s sake, that’s usually where you fall into some problems.”

Ted Lasso Season 3 Faced Multiple Delays Due To Rewrites

Dungey elaborated on her take and gave an example of The Big Bang Theory’s popular character, Sheldon. She mentioned how Young Sheldon was an apt spinoff given that it was a different way of looking at the character’s life. However, the same might not be applicable to Ted Lasso and a spinoff might not be a good idea in this case.

Although the Warner Bros. Television boss has shut down the possibility of a spinoff series, fans still have Season 3 to look forward to. Ted Lasso’s Season 2 arrived just a year after Season 1. However, fans have been waiting for Season 3 for a long time. This delay happened due to multiple production delays caused by several rewrites and other complications like Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
