‘Dance Moms’ Kelly Hyland Shares Huge Cancer Update
Dance Moms alum Kelly Hyland is sharing a huge cancer update. She was first diagnosed with breast cancer, invasive carcinoma grade 3, in March 2024. Yet, she has had the support of her daughters, Brooke and Paige, plus her son, Josh, so she has been fighting through it. Now, what update does Kelly have to give? Keep reading for more details.
Dance Moms Kelly Hyland Shares Huge Cancer Update
Kelly Hyland had no problem going up against Abby Lee Miller regarding her daughters, Paige and Brooke Hyland. Like most mothers, they wanted what was best for their children; sometimes, it was not the ALDC. Since the show ended, both girls have gone on to do great things. Brooke graduated from college and has a degree in marketing. Plus, she recently got engaged and is planning her wedding to her sweet fiance. Paige has been with her man for almost six years and appears to be an influencer. She is also very close to her sister and they are always catching up and laughing together.
This was great when they learned that their mom, Kelly had breast cancer. Their close bond was much needed during a very scary time in March 2023. Especially since Kelly had gotten her mammography less than a year prior and it came back clean, per E! News. Then, she found a lump and went back for another mammogram:
“I found a lump in my breast and booked myself a mammogram. I was shocked that it had grown that quickly.”
It was the news no one wants or expects to hear but she was very fortunate to have an amazing support system. Not only were her children there for her but so was her Dance Moms family. They have stayed tight all of these years later and even podcast together. Now, Kelly Hyland has big news to share. She is halfway through her treatment and the big bell was rung by her:
“I got to ring the bell today. This was the end of my first treatment… next steps surgery, 20 radiation and 11 more treatments. I GOT THIS.”

She showed herself in a long white dress and cropped denim coat ringing that bell and clapping. Her kids then came to hug her. It was emotional but well worth it.
So Much Support
Not only does Kelly Hyland have love and support from Paige, Brooke, Josh, and the Dance Moms family, but her followers love her. They cheered her on all the way and immediately sent sweet messages after she rang the bell:
- Not me crying as if I actually know you. Kelly is Americas mom because we grew up with her teaching us all how a mom should defend their kids 💖
- Whooo!! You go mama! So proud of you! We knew you would kick it’s butt!
- Well done Kelly- I know you have a long road ahead but this is such an achievement for you to be getting better. Lots of love in your recovery xx
She still has more to go but Kelly has an amazing outlook so everyone is cheering for her speedy recovery. This is great to see and hear because she went in with an amazing team and they have helped guide her. Good luck, Kelly. You will be back and better than ever.
