‘Fixer Upper’ Joanna & Chip Gaines Want Another Baby?
Already, the famous Fixer Upper pair, Joanna and Chip Gaines share six wonderful kiddos. But do they want to add another cute kid to their big brood?

While Fixer Upper stars, Chip and Joanna Gaines are very busy in their work life, they love raising their family even more. Undoubtedly, their five kids Drake, 19, Ella, 17, Duke, 16, Emmie, 14, and Crew, 6, are their pride and joy. Just recently, mama Joanna’s heart was broken by sending her oldest off to college for his second year. Although both Chip and Joanna love their work, their children have stolen their hearts. Even with all their wonderful accomplishments, there is no doubt they treasure their five kiddos far more than any of their outside successes. Since they are parents first, fans are questioning if number six is in the plans.
Joanna & Chip Gaines Want Another Baby?
Through the years, Chip and Joanna Gaines have spoken about adding a sixth child to their rambunctious brood. Not only because they adore their children, but there is another reason they have been considering trying for more kids. In 2018 they took a break from Fixer Upper after five successful seasons. At that point, they intended to grow their family. Without a doubt, they weren’t surprised when their youngest, Crew, arrived in June 2018. Showing his motivation, Chip told Eyewitness News: “We had four babies right before the show started, and then we’ve had zero babies since the show started. For me, I’m really excited to go back and try to maybe…try to make some more babies.”
What’s One More?
Furthermore, in 2019, Chip Gaines joked during an Inbound spotlight, “There’s a running joke with the people that run in our circles where any time things are going well between Joanna and I, at the end of that statement, I’ll sarcastically say — used to be sarcastically — ‘No. 5, No. 5.” Now updating the phrase for the current situation, “Well, now we’ve got five children. So now, sarcastically, I would say, ‘No. 6, No. 6,’ when things were going well.”
Then in an interview with Sunday Today, Chip points out the possibility of him and Joanna Gaines adding to the family again. Specifically, he discusses a younger sister for Crew in another discussion. Entertaining the idea, Chip says, “Like, I could see Crew having a little sibling and me being like, ‘I love this woman!'” However, Joanna had heard it all before. She says in response, “Just know, this is going to be the headline forever: ‘Jo’s pregnant again!'” Joanna continues, “I’m like, ‘Chip I think we’ve got enough businesses, I think we’re good!’ That’s how Chip is with children. He’s like, ‘I just think we can keep having them!’ I think Chip just loves a full plate.” Likewise, when talking with People, Chip gave the same speech but added that Crew could use a little sister.
Is Five Enough?
While Chip and Joanna Gaines still seem to be considering adding another child, Joanna also knows it isn’t going to get easier with age. Admittedly, while continuing the conversation with People, she talked about some of the drawbacks. “When I first got pregnant I kept telling everyone at the office, ‘Guys, I am my best self when I’m pregnant,'” she announced. However, as time went on, it took its toll, “And then, for whatever reason, I was limping into work and I couldn’t breathe. At 40, it’s definitely a little different.” Although they aren’t ruling it out, it may be more challenging if Joanna carries another child.
