Viewers watching Season 19 of The Bachelorette were shocked when Zach Shallcross, who had made it to the final three, self-eliminated before the rose ceremony that would have decided the final two. He emotionally told Rachel Recchia that the person he saw in the Fantasy Suite wasn’t the “real Rachel” that he knew.
As the white SUV pulled away from the scene, he further confessed to the cameras that he truly thought Rachel would be his wife. Something changed between the two during the overnight dates and fans have been obsessing over the mystery ever since.
Some Bachelor Nation fans believe the two had a disagreement over politics, but neither Zach Shallcross or Rachel Recchia explained what went down in the Fantasy Suite, until now.

Zach Shallcross went on to be the Season 27 Bachelor and got engaged to Kaity Biggar. The two live in Texas together and are currently planning their wedding.
Rachel was briefly engaged to her final rose winner, Tino Franco. She went on Season 9 of Bachelor In Paradise after the engagement ended. Rachel and her BIP co-star Blake Moynes recently sparked dating rumors.
Zach joined his fiance for a TikTok video to answer the burning question from a fan about what happened with him and Rachel that night. He warned that the answer is “anti-climatic.” So, what happened?
He went on to say that nothing dramatic happened and the two simply realized they weren’t compatible and didn’t have a future together.

But Zach’s tea didn’t satisfy some of Kaity’s TikTok followers. Kaity replied to one comment with more detail. She said that Zach and Rachel didn’t really get a chance to know each other because of how the show is formatted. Kaity added that they likely realized they didn’t have chemistry during the Fantasy Suite dates.
