‘MAFS’ Emily Balch Dishes On Toxic Marriage To Brennan
One of the couples from Married At First Sight Season 17 is officially divorced. Emily Balch and Brennan Shoykhet can finally put their bad experience on the Lifetime show behind them and Emily is ready to open up about her toxic marriage. The MAFS star said she was eager to detail some of the things she experienced with Brennan and on the reality TV show.
Emily & Brennan Could Barely Speak To Each Other
After things played out the way they did on MAFS Season 17, Emily and Brennan are not even on speaking terms. So, the fact that they were still married until very recently is hard to believe.
There were never any sparks flying between the couple on the show. Although there was some hope when they first said their “I dos,” that hope quickly dissipated as they spent time together. Brennan lost interest in Emily and the relationship fast.
Later, it came out that the entire MAFS cast for Season 17 planned to fake their relationships from the start. Eventually, all of the women turned against the men, which viewers saw in full force during the reunion episode.
Married At First Sight fans were furious over being lied to by the cast. In the end, Season 17 is considered to be the worst season of the show in its history.
During the reunion, Emily and Brennan came face-to-face once again. It was the first time they’d seen each other since filming the show.
Not surprisingly, Brennan was already dating someone else by the time the reunion rolled around. Emily, on the other hand, was still upset about the way he acted while they were married. Luckily for Emily, he’s not her problem anymore.
MAFS Stars Officially Divorced
The MAFS alum shared a screenshot on her Instagram Story. The screenshot showed an email that informed her that the divorce was finalized.
Over the screenshot, she wrote, “OFFICIALLY FREE FROM THE 😈 & Happily Divorced.”
In the next update on her Instagram Story, Emily promised to share some “fun facts” and details about the Married At First Sight process. She also said she would discuss her marriage to Brennan. There are lot of things viewers don’t get to see that happen behind the scenes.
Now that the divorce is finalized, Emily Balch seems to feel safe dishing all the details. The MAFS alum said she would also discuss her ATV accident and other medical problems she is dealing with from the incident. Plus, “more around my draining bank account because of it all!!” she wrote. She told her followers that she would talk about everything they wanted to know on Instagram Live. “Stay tuned,” she penned.
It’s clear Emily Balch is feeling better now that she’s not tied to Brennan anymore. Hopefully, the next season of MAFS will involve better matches.
Married At First Sight is currently on hiatus. There is no release date for the new season yet, but it will likely premiere in the beginning half of 2025.
