Several Arrests Made In Matthew Perry’s Tragic Death
Fans around the world felt shocked and saddened to learn about Friends actor Matthew Perry’s death last year. He passed away on October 28, 2023, at 54.
Perry struggled with a wide range of mental health issues throughout his life. But when circumstances around his death emerged, many suspected there were more parties involved.
After 10 months of investigation, law enforcement agencies have arrested several people in connection to Perry’s death. Read on to see what’s currently known.
Law Enforcement Makes Arrests For Involvement In Matthew Perry’s Drowning
From the beginning, it’s been alleged Matthew Perry’s drowning was an accident. However, there could still be many who inadvertently played a role in his death.
And that’s precisely why law enforcement immediately took action.
According to TMZ, law enforcement recently apprehended multiple parties over the death of beloved Friends actor, Matthew Perry. The news outlet shares that at least one doctor was included in the arrest.
“Multiple law enforcement agencies have executed search warrants and seized computers, phones and other electronic equipment to determine who supplied Perry with the ketamine that caused him to lose consciousness last October and drown in his hot tub,” TMZ writes.
The actor had grappled with anxiety, depression, and addiction for many years. He reportedly used ketamine infusion therapy to help treat his mental health issues. However, his last therapy treatment reportedly took place a week and a half before his untimely death. In other words, the ketamine found in his system during his autopsy was not properly prescribed.
As TMZ previously shared, the Friends actor had enough ketamine in his system at the time of his death that it was on par with the level used during anesthesia for surgery.
The Investigation Uncovered Connections To Hollywood Drug Scene
In the months following his death, several law enforcement agencies have been investigating the circumstances. TMZ’s sources report that the “search warrant revealed text messages discussing Perry and the ketamine he wanted and what they were doing to get it to him. The texts also discuss the price the Friends actor would pay for the drug.”
While investigating, law enforcement agencies also apparently uncovered many other celebrities connected to the infamous Hollywood drug scene.
More information will likely come out over the next several weeks. So far, information regarding the identities of those arrested seems scarce. But in the meantime, Perry’s fans and loved ones hold out hope justice will be served.
