Fans Beg Carrie Underwood To Change Strict ‘American Idol’ Rule
Carrie Underwood first auditioned for American Idol 20 years ago. She won Season 4 of the singing competition. She is considered one of the show’s success stories, along with Season 1 winner Kelly Clarkson.
It was announced at the beginning of August that the country singer was returning to her roots. She joins the upcoming season of American Idol as a judge, replacing the departing Katy Perry. As excited as fans are by the news, they beg her to change one strict rule for the reality singing competition. Keep reading for all the details.
Carrie Underwood Fans Concerned For Her Marriage
Carrie Underwood took to social media to promote the upcoming American Idol auditions. She shared a schedule of audition dates and encouraged her followers to try out for the show.
However, there were several comments speculating that the judging gig will be the end of her marriage. One fan expressed disappointment that the singing competition and Las Vegas residency took priority over the singer’s family at home.
Carrie Underwood has two kids with husband Mike Fisher. The two are reportedly considering adding to their family.
One fan fed up with the hypocrisy pointed out that one of the other judges has more kids than Carrie Underwood, but no one is concerned for his marriage.
“I love how everyone is sooooo concerned about Carrie underwood being away from family……what about Luke Bryan he has more kids than her????? You people need to get a life and worry about yourself!”
In addition to comments about her family, a request for a rule change dominated the comments on the promotional post.

Fans Beg Strict American Idol Rule Change
Idol Across America is looking for the country’s best singers… with a catch. According to The U.S. Sun, applicants must be between fourteen and twenty-nine. Several disgruntled fans took to the comments of Carrie Underwood’s post to complain about how unfair the age limit is and beg her to change it.
- I wanted to audition before but it says you have to be in your 20s or younger
- It’s so sad they put an age limit. I’m by no means old but of course the world keeps sending the message that your dreams are over if you’re over 30
- Can you please open up the ages. I used to watch as a little girl and now at 33 I’m too old.
- Age requirements suck
- I’m not even 30 and I can’t audition!
But another social media user clapped back at the complaints and told them to try out for The Voice instead. The rival NBC show doesn’t have an age limit, though applicants must be at least thirteen.
Season 23 of American Idol will premiere on ABC in early 2025. Do you agree the show should get rid of the age limit? Sound off in the comments.

I think it should be at least 16 and older.
I agree that the age limit should either be raised to allow those that are well into their 30s and early 40s or get rid of the age limit rule all together and allow those that want to follow their dreams to be able to do so. I auditioned back in 2007 but never made it past the pre-judging round.
Leave it the way it is. it’s fine so don’t mess it up you woke fucks!
they should be 18-42. fair enough they’re adults. 42 is Old enough to Have established a Job and family.
