Shaquille O’Neal Fans Want To Save ‘Boring’ ‘Lucky 13’
NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal is trying his hand as a game show host on Lucky 13. He hosts the show alongside Gina Rodriguez (Jane the Virgin). However, while this is a new game show for Shaq to shine in, fans are not impressed. Many fans feel the show is boring and needs some changes to survive.
Here is what fans say about the problem with Lucky 13 and how they would fix it.
Shaquille O’Neal’s Lucky 13 Called ‘Boring” By Fans
Shaquille O’Neal’s new game show is called Lucky 13. The show airs on ABC and has two games played in each episode. One contestant has to answer 13 true/false questions but is not told how many are correct. After this, they can change any answer using a Pepsi Play.
The player then has to guess how many answers they got correct. They have five ranges they can guess in. If they guess 1-3, they can win $5,000. The players who guess 4-6, can win $15,000. A player can win $25,000 if they guess 7-9. If they guess 10-12, they can win $100,000. If they guess 13, they win $1 million.
They can also guess the Lucky Number, which is the exact number of correct answers, for extra money. Before the final answers are shown, the players get one last chance to accept a guaranteed cash prize and go home with something. They win nothing if they keep playing and the number of correct answers falls outside the range.
In Week 1, a player won $50,000; the second player won nothing. Week 2 saw a player win $25,000; the second player won nothing. In Week 3, there were no winners at all.
Fans call the show boring, though, and want changes.
Lucky 13 Changes Needed According to Fans
According to fans, Shaquille O’Neal’s new game show needs some changes if it wants to succeed. Many flooded social media to discuss the show and why it isn’t working for them.
The biggest complaint is that the show is “boring” and “too slow.” Here are suggestions from fans about the show:
- “Can’t help but think the show would be helped immeasurably if they’d do three games an hour rather than two. Seems there’s definitely time.”
- “I still think it’s a format better suited for daytime and a smaller money ladder. It’s not a million dollar game.”
- “Half the show being basically a recap definitely bogs it down”
Fans also aren’t happy since the show seemed to rob its first contestant when it counted a correct answer as wrong. The show claimed that Cinco de Mayo is Mexico’s Independence Day, which is not true. The player lost because he got it right, and the show had the wrong answer.
