‘Jeopardy!’ Isaac Hirsch Gets A Lot Of ‘Thirsty’ DMs From Men
In his time on Jeopardy!, Isaac Hirsch was not only a great champion, but he was also a popular contestant. While many people find reasons to dislike long-running champs, Isaac was likable and self-deprecating and picked up a huge fanbase. It also appears he has a lot of people who started sending him DMs because they thought he was hot.
Isaac has a girlfriend, but he said that isn’t stopping men from sending “thirsty DMs” to him. Here is what Hirsch had to say.
Isaac Hirsch Opens Up About ‘Thirsty’ DMs After Jeopardy! Appearance
Isaac Hirsch said that after his time on Jeopardy!, he started getting DMs from people who thought he was hot. However, although he has a girlfriend, Isaac said many DMs have been “thirsty DMs” from guys.
Hirsch appeared on the What is… A Jeopardy! podcast and talked about the attention he got after leaving the show. He said that he got lots of “thirsty DMs” and then added that they were mostly from men. This led him to realize he had built up a large fanbase on “gay Twitter.”
Hirsch said he had become an unexpected “low-key gay icon” on Jeopardy! “It was maybe the most surprising part of all of it,” Isaac said. “Because I’ve been out in public, and as far as I know, I’ve never been hit on. So to see the gays be so thirsty and complimentary of me – deeply flattering but also completely unexpected.”
He then asked if he was “a twink.”
Isaac Hirsch Said He Got LGBTQ+ Attention While On Jeopardy!
Isaac Hirsch said that he saw he was getting attention from LGBTQ+ Jeopardy! fans while his episodes were airing, which was surprising to him. He then joked that if he was single and not straight, he could have a really good time right now.
This initially came from people tweeting at him, but it soon turned into several DMs from “many, many men.” He said there was a 70 to 30 [ratio] of men to women for flirtatious DMs. Isaac made a name for himself on the show thanks to his dress style, which looked like he came from the 1970s.
He said the DMs were mostly platonic, but some were rather direct. “They were all relatively polite for an intro DM. If I had responded, I’m sure they would have gotten dirty,” he admitted. That is why he wouldn’t respond to anything except the non-flirtatious ones, where he would thank the person for their support.
Isaac said he has been with his girlfriend for five years.
