Sad Reason QVC’s David Venable Was Missing From Show
QVC recently shared a video of the beloved David Venable to tide fans over. The chef was missing from Sunday’s broadcast and viewers were concerned about him. Keep reading to find out the sad reason why.
Beloved QVC Chef Missing From Regular Broadcast
The shopping network posted a video of David on Sunday. He wore his signature apron and was making a country seafood boil.
“We are making a really delicious country seafood boil, and you can check out the recipe by checking out QVC-plus,” he said to the camera. Then he posed with his seafood boil, which looked mouth-watering.
In the caption, QVC wrote, “@davidvenableqvc’s Country Seafood Boil is a real catch.” The network also reminded fans that they could watch David Venable via the streaming service QVC+.

Fans were quick to comment on the post, expressing their well wishes for David and letting him know he is missed. “Sending warm wishes and positive vibes to you and your family!” one fan wrote. Another chimed in, “Prayers to your momma, you, and your family.” A third commented, “Missed you today David Prayers for you and your mom n family with hurricane Debby arriving in NC this week.”
When Will David Venable Return?
On Friday, David shared that his mother was placed in a hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina. His mom, Sarah, was suffering from “abdominal pain and dehydration.” He flew in to visit with his mom and shared that he’d be missing a couple of shifts on QVC as a result.
At first, he thought he’d only miss a couple of days, but the visit was drawn out longer due to complications with his mom’s health. In the meantime, Mary DeAngelis has been filling in for him.
He will return to QVC on Wednesday, August 7. David shared the update on Instagram on Tuesday. To avoid the incoming Tropical Storm, he caught a flight back home. Thankfully, his brother was able to be with their mom over the next few days. The fan-favorite chef shared that his mom is doing better, but it’s been a slow-moving process.
He thanked fans for all of their well wishes for his mom and shared the upcoming lineup. Here is what he shared about where fans can see him this week:
