Could Gerry Turner Be ‘The Golden Bachelor’ Again?
When The Golden Bachelor first began, it was easy to fall in love with Gerry Turner. As a widower starting over, Gerry was kind and relatable to Bachelor Nation. Along with the firecracker women who showed up on day one, it wasn’t hard to get involved with the match-making process as it unfolded each week. Furthermore, Theresa Nist gave a shocking entrance that stuck with Gerry right from the start. However, as with all the logistics of finding a new spouse in their sixties and seventies, the fairytale didn’t last. Now that Gerry is single again, could fans see him reprise the role of Golden Bachelor?
Gerry Turner And Theresa Nist Give It A Shot
At first, Theresa Nist made a lasting impression on Gerry Turner when she stepped out of the limo with a coat and seemingly nothing else below. Then, she revealed a nude dress that made a big first impression giving her a jump ahead of the other 21 women vying for his heart. From the start, Gerry was kind and caring. With each interaction, he made great eye contact and listened carefully to each of the women as they began to build relationships through the process. Undeniably, Gerry was charming and warm toward the ladies. Furthermore, he offered vulnerable memories from his previous marriage with Toni Turner. He was married for 43 years before her passing in 2014. Bachelor Nation watched as Gerry got to the end with three wonderful ladies to choose from Leslie Fhima, Faith Martin, and Theresa Nist.
Gerry Turner Casts A Spell On The Women
At the end of the show, The Golden Bachelor‘s sweet demeanor continued with each heartfelt goodbye. During the meeting of the women’s families, Gerry said he loved both Leslie Fhima and Faith Martin. But in the end, he asked Theresa Nist to marry him. Fast forward, the marriage didn’t last. When the two lovebirds rode off into the sunset together, they didn’t realize their love for their families would become the dividing factor. But alas, just three months into their marriage, they announced they were divorcing. Sadly, the spell was broken and Theresa went her own way to focus on her family. In some ways, Gerry was a lone wolf again.
Could Gerry Turner Be The Golden Bachelor Again?
Since Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist could not sort out the logistics of being near their families and building their relationship, Gerry is on his own again. Undeniably, Bachelor Nation can play some tricks by bringing back people or sliding in new surprises. For instance, Brad Womack returned for a second season after rejecting his final two. Likewise, several people have gotten a second chance in other shows within the franchise. Specifically, Joan Vassos is returning as The Golden Bachelorette after her stint was cut short due to a family emergency. Additionally, some fans have wondered if Gerry would be returning with Joan to see if their connection on The Golden Bachelor would have gone anywhere. Undoubtedly, it is hard to tell what Bachelor Nation has up its sleeve.
Overcoming The Bad Rap
However, after Gerry Turner gave Theresa Nist the final rose, the widower’s storyline of not dating since his wife passed away came into question. News broke that an old girlfriend revealed she was living with him before he went on the show. The scandal made Gerry look bad and may have played a role in his and Theresa‘s split. Undeniably, it tarnished the reputation of the kind-hearted, easily lovable dad, granddad, and prince charming portrayed on The Golden Bachelor. Although Theresa said she forgave any past grievances and was ready to move forward, it probably affected the lens she saw Gerry after the information was released. Likewise, fans seem to move on trying to accept the good-natured fella when he was celebrating the big Golden Wedding.
Searching For Love
However, many people weren’t as forgiving once the divorce announcement came out. Since then, many fans aren’t sure they can trust him. Sadly, Gerry Turner still appears to want to find a significant connection with someone. Seemingly, he wants to walk hand in hand with someone through the rest of his life’s journey. While his reputation has suffered, he could be a candidate for a “surprise” return in either The Golden Bachelor or The Golden Bachelorette. But Bachelor Nation may also not risk it since he has left a sour taste in some of the fans’ mouths over the last year.
