‘7 Little Johnstons’ Fans Question Liz Johnston’s Nursing License
Elizabeth “Liz” Johnston from 7 Little Johnstons on TLC claims to be a nurse, but skeptics doubt it even though she changed her Instagram bio to include the word “nurse.” Some TLC fans think she’s not yet an RN and that her qualifications are exaggerated.

It’s not the first time that TLC fans questioned the qualifications of Elizabeth “Liz” Johnston. In fact, some 7 Little Johnstons fans grow bored with the question: especially since she welcomed her daughter, Leighton Drew Bolden. While it’s a fact that she did study, some people hate that if she’s not yet an RN, she calls herself a nurse.
Liz Johnston’s dad, Trent claimed last year in a social media comment that the great news was that she’d “finished and passed her boards.” That news came via the YouTube blog site of The Fame. However, there are plenty of TLC critics who think that he lied about it. This week, the question arrived once again on social media.
7 Little Johnstons Fans Discuss Being A Nurse
On the TLC show, fans saw that Jonah’s sister was able to take equipment home to practice with. And, there’s a general belief that she’s a dialysis tech. Why is it so important to know her nursing status? Well, those who work in the medical field work hard for their qualifications. So they feel insulted if someone who isn’t a qualified nurse calls themselves one.
On Reddit this week, a commonly themed statement arrived. A 7 Little Johnstons viewer wrote:
Liz is not a nurse. PERIOD.
In the comments section, not all that many people seemed interested in it. However, they do feel irritated that Liz Johnston being a nurse might just be a storyline for the TLC show.
The comments rolled in and here are some thoughts from the discussion about the 7 Little Johnstons star:
- I think if she had taken the exam it would have been shown on the show. “Liz is working SO hard studying for her nursing exam” then cut to amber planning a party for her passing the exam.
- They have mentioned a hundred times that Liz is going to school for nursing, she claims she took the NCLEX, & she had the equipment to practice on Jonah, & the family refers to her as a nurse. That’s a lot of flat out lying for one storyline.
- she does not have a license in Georgia so either she got her BSN and didn’t pass the nclex, or the whole thing was a lie. Who knows.
Upon hearing the rumors, we looked on Georgia’s Board Of Nursing Website and there is no record of her holding an active nursing license.
