‘Press Your Luck’ Fans Feel ‘Whammied’ By Abrupt Schedule Change
Recently, Press Your Luck fans got a terrible surprise. While many were looking forward to seeing more contestants take their turn at getting some big money, they were abruptly “whammied” when they learned the show was canceled. Sadly, fans will have to wait another week to see Elizabeth Banks lead contestants to their shot at winning.
Elizabeth Banks Is Ready To Give Away More Money On Press Your Luck
Earlier this week, three-time Emmy nominee, Elizabeth Banks, went on Good Morning America to promote both Press Your Luck and her upcoming thriller movie, Skincare. While the actress “wowed” Robin Roberts with a terrifying tale of a near-death experience, she was also very excited about the new season of Press Your Luck. She has so much fun and adores giving away life-changing money to contestants in Season 6. She gives the show credit for personalizing prizes for the contestants and making them the “stars” of each episode. However, she knows her co-star, “The Whammy” is horrible and she says it “drives” her nuts. Furthermore, she reminded America to tune in on Thursdays for the new episode on ABC. But much to fans’ dismay, the show was abruptly canceled for the otherwise planned Thursday airing.
Press Your Luck Fans Feel ‘Whammied’ By Abrupt Schedule Change
On Thursday, August 1, Press Your Luck posted on Facebook that there was a shift in the plans. At 11 a.m. a post showed the stage set up but the caption says, “The stage is set and the Whammies are waiting! #PressYourLuck is all-new next Thursday on ABC.” But many fans took the news as a personal whammy to themselves. Undeniably, the late notice was disappointing to avid fans. Since many people were looking forward to seeing Elizabeth Banks offer contestants the chance to win while balancing the risk of whammies, it was upsetting to see they would have to wait a week for the next episode. Sadly, it disrupted many fans’ plans.
Fans Rage
After the Press Your Luck Facebook page lets fans know about the abrupt schedule change, many show irritation by the short notice. The show time had a preseason football game between the Houston Texans and the Chicago Bears instead.

- “Seriously? Because of a preseason football game? 🙄.”
- Some miss Press Your Luck so much, they are doing housework! Saying, “Can’t wait!! I’M pressing my dress & watching my vacuum suck because I have to wait another week until #PRESSYOURLUCK!!”

- “Next Thursday?? WTF? Why not tonight?? 😡.”
