Following family time at the Paris Olympics with husband, John Legend, and their children, Chrissy Teigen recently opened up about something that changed their family forever. It turns out, her young son, Miles, has Type 1 diabetes.
Followers noticed Miles wearing something in pics from the family time in Paris, and, for those followers who have had experience with Type 1 diabetes, they called it out right away.
This led to Chrissy Teigen eventually coming clean about her young son’s diagnosis, and there has been an outpouring of support among fans ever since.
Teigen’s Son Was In The Hospital For Something Else Entirely
It often happens in the medical field where, you may go to the hospital for one thing, but, doctors end up finding something else that’s wrong. This was exactly what happened with Chrissy Teigen and John Legend’s young son a few weeks ago.
According to Chrissy, her son was initially in the hospital for shigella, a bacterial infection. However, doctors noticed that something “was off about his blood tests.” After more testing, they found that he has Type 1 diabetes.
Since Chrissy Teigen shared this about her son, and how her entire family is adjusting to this new reality “on the fly,” there has been an incredible amount of support from Chrissy’s millions of followers. Many continue to come forward with positive messages for her, her son, and their entire family.

Nick Jonas Steps Up To Support Chrissy Teigen And John Legend’s Son
One celeb who knows a thing or two about living with Type 1 diabetes while being in the public eye is Nick Jonas. The singer and actor was diagnosed with it 18 years ago, and he has been able to carve out a successful life even while dealing with the condition.
A fan in Chrissy Teigen’s comments suggested she reach out to Nick Jonas, as he would be able to give her son advice from someone who lives with the diagnosis. Based on the reply Chrissy gave, Nick is already way ahead of the game on this.
Speaking of Nick Jonas, Chrissy Teigen wrote: “Nick was so kind to him!! We were so lucky to run into him.”
Outside of the support Miles has from his family, he also has the support of other famous people who have gone through what he will go through, and that will be major for him as he adjusts to his life following this unexpected diagnosis.
