Fans who are awaiting news on the Yellowstone prequel 1923 finally have it. According to TV Insider, the Taylor Sheridan series has started filming in Austin, Texas. They report that a local Texas news source, LMT Online, shared that they will be filming until September.
In addition, a local casting agency provided more information on the length of the filming schedule. My San Antonio shared a request for television extras in early July. Despite the name of the publication, this request was also for Austin, Texas. The publication confirmed that filming started on July 8 and would run into September.
However, when Paramount+ filmed Season 1, it was in Montana.
Who Stars In Yellowstone Prequel 1923?
Starring in this Yellowstone prequel is Harrison Ford, as Jacob Dutton, and Helen Mirren, as Cara Dutton. This 1923 prequel continues the Dutton story, as well as fills out the family tree. Jacob Dutton is the brother of James Dutton, portrayed by Tim McGraw in 1883.
After James and Margaret (Faith Hill) Dutton died, Jacob and Cara raised their nephews, Spencer and John. Those characters are portrayed by Brandon Sklenar and James Badge Dale. Sadly, John Dutton, Dale’s character died early in Season 1.
Therefore, the new season will include Ford, Mirren, and Sklenar. Also expected to return is Julia Schlaepfer, who portrays Alexandra, Spencer’s new wife.
It seems that Spencer Dutton is experiencing a sort of Homeric journey. Last season, Aunt Cara wrote to share how dire things are at the ranch, as well as news of John’s death. Spencer had to overcome obstacles, as he took Alex with him on this journey.
