Joan Vassos Reveals Stance On Kissing & Finding New Love
Undeniably, in The Golden Bachelorette, Joan Vassos’ family is very important to her. During her time on The Golden Bachelor, her shot at love was interrupted by her main priority of taking care of her family. However, she is getting another chance at love. She shares her feelings about kissing on camera and what she looks for in a man.
Joan Vassos Keeps Family Involvement In The Golden Bachelorette
While it is no secret that Joan Vassos cares dearly for her family, it is beautiful to see her interact with them ahead of the new Golden Bachelorette series. Together with her mother, Mary, and mother-in-law, Elaine, she hosts her family for a large family dinner. As Joan, 61, gathers with her children, grandchildren, mother, and mother-in-law, she shares about her upcoming journey with finding love. Her mother, Mary, was so excited to celebrate her being the first Golden Bachelorette. And her four kids are coming along for the ride as well. Admittedly, Mary even brought wine which Joan’s mother-in-law laughingly adds she is happy to help drink.
Joan Vassos Reveals Stance On Kissing
In a preview for The Golden Bachelorette, Joan Vassos asks and fields questions about her future journey to find love. Her daughter Ally asks, “How do you feel about kissing another guy on TV?” Undeniably, difficult to admit to her kids, she candidly answers anyway. She says, “Oh jeez!” Then, she continues, “I’m going to have to get used to that because you don’t want to be with somebody that you don’t like to kiss, so you have to try it out.” Much to her kids’ chagrin, she adds, “I’m probably going to kiss a fair amount of guys on camera. I’m sorry, guys!”
Immediately, her her son Nick responds, “A fair amount?” startled by her answer. Furthermore, Ally agrees, “We were not expecting that answer!” But Joan is taking her second chance at love very seriously.
Finding New Love
When Joan Vassos and her family gather around a perfectly set table, she asks her family members’ opinions about what to discuss with her suitors. Her son, Nick, suggests she focus on finding out what each man’s top three priorities are. Elaine, her mother-in-law, recommends learning if they like to travel.
Likewise, her grandson, Boomer also joins in the conversation. He says she should know, “What is his favorite dinosaur?” Joan confirms, “Well, obviously!”
Joan Vassos Shares What She Is Looking For In A Man
Additionally, Joan Vassos’ daughter, Allison, asks what she wants in a future husband. She says, “I’m very picky about a man being a gentleman.” Further elaborating, “Somebody with a big heart. Somebody who is generous. And also somebody who’s humble.” Then, Nick addresses her speaking for the family, “We want you to be happy.” Undeniably, Joan is comforted by the reassurance from the people most important to her. “Thank you so much for all your support,” Joan responds to everyone at the table. Sentimentally, she adds, “I’m not here to replace Dad,” referring to her husband she lost in 2021 to pancreatic cancer. But she adds, “I just want our family to be whole again.” However, not dwelling on the loss of her husband, she shows excitement for the future. She concludes, “So, let’s cheers: Cheers to a great adventure!”
The Golden Bachelorette premieres Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 8/7c on ABC. Then, will stream on Hulu later.
