Maks Chmerkovskiy Knows What He Wants Out Of His Career

In a recent interview with HELLO!, Maks discussed adjusting to fatherhood and having three little boys in the house. However, the topic of Dancing With The Stars also came up.

Although Maks hasn’t been on the show in a number of years, he always tunes in. His wife Peta is an active participant, as well as his younger brother, reigning champion Val Chmerkovskiy, and Val’s wife, Jenna Johnson.

“Do you plan to return to the ballroom? Would you like to?” HELLO! asked the Ukrainian dancer.

“I mean, yeah. Why not? I would love to,” Maks replied. “Not in the sense of like, ‘Would I love to do Dancing With The Stars.’ I wouldn’t mind today because my mentality’s different, my body’s different, my feelings about everything sort of life are different, and the outlook on opportunities, possibilities, the reality, the things that make you happy.”

In previous interviews, Maks Chmerkovskiy said he wasn’t very interested in returning. This is a major change of tune and fans are excited.

“I’ve done so many things today by now that, again, I have data of like what’s best for me. What’s best for my family, what’s best for my psyche,” he continued. “What’s best for my heart, my soul, not just for my pocket. And so from that standpoint, if the opportunity comes and it’s the right type of opportunity, and by that I mean, there’s a reason and a need for me to be back, I would love the opportunity.”

The Pro Dancer Is Still Heavily Involved In The Reality TV World

Even though Maks’ time on Dancing With The Stars concluded, he’s still invested in the reality television world. He appeared as a judge during the most recent season of So You Think You Can Dance. He also went on to compete on The Traitors.

If the Chmerkovskiys get some help with the boys, it’s entirely possible that both Maks and Peta will compete in the ballroom this fall.
