Now, the co-showrunners Jan Nash, Christopher Silver, and Matt Bosack have revealed what they would have done had Season 4 happened.
Moreover, the three showrunners also reveal if they have recovered from the shock of cancelation.
What Would Have NCIS: Hawaii Cliffhanger Resolution Been?
On Friday, TV Line spoke to the three NCIS: Hawaii showrunners, Jan Nash, Christopher Silver, and Matt Bosack, about the cliffhanger Season 3 ending, and what they planned to do in Season 4. After admitting that they were “obviously surprised” that this spinoff was canceled, they revealed that they would not have ended on a cliffhanger. That said, what did they plan to do in Season 4?
The trio was asked what was asked about Maggie Shaw. First, the trio admitted that they didn’t have all the details. However, they had a “general idea” about Maggie’s storyline. Moreover, Maggie’s storyline was going to include Jane Tennant and her mother. This was hinted in the mid-season. But they did not share any real details about Jane’s mother.
In addition, they planned to return to “the dark world of Tennant’s spy past, using those stories to increase our understanding of who Jane was, but also to learn more about her team in the process.”
Also, they wanted to move the Lucy and Kate relationship forward.

What Would Season 4 Of The CBS Military Procedural Series Have Included?
Some of the other details that the four NCIS: Hawaii showrunners revealed about Season 4 included people. For example, they were asked whether Jesse’s wife and their other child would be in Season 4. They admitted that “We started every season planning to meet her and she would have shown up eventually.”
Two other people that were going to be part of Season 4 were Ernie’s ex-wife and Jane’ Tennant’s mom. However, “there was no ‘musts’ on the list.” They revealed that their focus was on the story. They wanted fans to be entertained.
Also, the other plan was to keep LL Cool J on the series, reprising his NCIS: LA Sam Hanna role. “The chemistry he shared with our amazing lead, Vanessa Lachey, was so compelling, we had hoped to keep it going for many seasons to come.”
