American Idol champion Kelly Clarkson had the one-of-a-kind opportunity to witness Celine Dion’s performance in Paris. And the experience drove Kelly to tears.
She certainly wasn’t alone. Many fans around the world felt anxious and excited when news of Celine Dion’s arrival in Paris broke earlier in the week. It marked the Canadian singer’s first return to the stage following her Stiff-Person Syndrome diagnosis.
Dion stepped away from performing to focus on her health over the past few years. But now, it seems she’s truly back. Fans like Kelly Clarkson are thrilled and can’t wait to see what comes next.
Kelly Clarkson Was In Awe At Celine Dion’s Performance
Many American celebrities represented the United States during the Olympic Games. Mike Tirico, Peyton Manning, and Kelly Clarkson all had an amazing opportunity to be in Paris and see Celine Dion perform live.
The Canadian icon sang from atop the Eiffel Tower dressed in a stunning, sparkling white gown.
“Wow!” Tirico expressed his delight as the Canadian singer performed. “Celine Dion, who has been dealing with a rare progressive neurological disorder, and has not appeared very often, performing in public, with… a performance fitting of this amazing night.”
“I actually can’t talk,” Kelly Clarkson replied, tearing up at the performance.
In a moment captured on TikTok, Mike Tirico asked Kelly to share her thoughts on the show.
“I’ve been inspired. I’ve been dancing. I was not ready for that ending,” the 42-year-old singer expressed her thoughts. “I’m so sorry. You looked at me and I was like, wait. If you know anything just about Celine right now … this is her purpose.”
Kelly tried to find the right words through her tears.
“That was incredible. And in my field, she is the gold winner for vocal athletes.”

A Las Vegas Run Might Be In Store For Celine Dion
If Kelly Clarkson wants to see the Canadian singer perform live again, she might have another opportunity coming up. The Sun reports that Celine Dion will have a limited engagement in Las Vegas this fall, health permitting. If she doesn’t feel well enough to perform, they will try to push back the performance dates.
Celine Dion wants nothing more than to perform again, but she also needs to monitor her health and well-being.
