Celine Dion Gets Emotional During Her Epic Olympics Performance
As TV Shows Ace previously noted, Canadian singing icon Celine Dion was spotted in Paris before the opening ceremonies for the 2024 Olympics. Fans fully expected her to make her grand return to the stage since stepping away to manage her health. And she did not disappoint.
The opening ceremonies this year were incredibly entertaining and artistic. Celine’s performance was the cherry on top of a one-of-a-kind opener.
Celine Dion Dazzles The World Atop The Eiffel Tower
A few years ago, Celine Dion announced she was struggling with a health condition, Stiff-Person Syndrome. Even though the singer loved performing, she knew she had to step away from the stage to put her health first.
As Celine continued fighting her illness, she vowed to perform for her fans again someday. That came true during the opening ceremonies for the Olympic games.
As the opening ceremonies drew to a close, Celine Dion performed for the world atop the Eiffel Tower. Just after the Olympic torch was lit, the Canadian singer performed in French, dressed in a lovely white gown.
Her voice rang out across the city and she became emotional as she performed. Fans noticed she seemed close to tears as she continued.
During her new documentary, I Am: Celine Dion, the singer detailed the challenges she had to overcome. Her Stiff-Person Syndrome diagnosis gave her painful spasms and left her wondering if she could ever perform live again.
Celine Dion’s epic return sparked hope in her fans and viewers across the world.
NBC Sports has her full performance available on its YouTube page.
The Singer Wants To Perform In Las Vegas This Fall
The 2024 Paris Olympics marks Celine Dion’s return to the world of performing, but it certainly won’t be her last engagement. According to The Sun, the singer also wants to have a series of limited shows this fall in Las Vegas.
The publication reports that her Vegas show will be a 70-minute run of her greatest hits. It’s rumored that her run will be around the same time as the Las Vegas Formula One Grand Prix.
However, Celine knows she also needs to prioritize her health. Reportedly, the plan is to push back the shows if her health worsens. The Sun reveals they might do a trial run to see if the singer feels up to the challenge.
But after her stunning performance in Paris, anything seems possible now.
