‘GH’ Maurice Benard Shocks Fans, Goes After Soap Actor

Maurice Benard Gives His Two Cents On GH Actor
A General Hospital fan took to X asking fellow fans about Maurice Benard. The tweet asked fellow fans to put a heart emoji in the comments if they were fans of Maurice and to simply scroll on if they didn’t have anything nice to say.
Surprisingly, Maurice himself weighed in on the conversation. He retweeted the message and gave himself an honest review. The General Hospital actor wrote, “I’m not a fan at all. I don’t think he’s a very good actor, and I don’t think he’s that good looking. He may be a little sexy, but that’s it.”
The GH actor was poking some fun at himself. Fans seemed to love his reaction. In the comments, one person wrote, “So you are a good actor and comedian I see.” Another simply replied with a GIF of Keegan-Michael Key laughing. Many other comments flooded in with laughing emojis.
However, a number of people made it known that they respectfully disagreed with what Maurice Benard said about himself. “With all due respect sir, you are very sexy, extraordinarily gifted, and filled with love,” one person commented.

Several people mentioned the current General Hospital storyline involving Maurice’s character Sonny Corinthos. As viewers may know, Sonny was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and has to take medication to maintain his mental health. Maurice Benard also lives with bipolar.
Sonny Corinthos’ Future On General Hospital
Recently on the soap opera, Sonny has been going off the rails. Many fans are hoping that things will turn around for the beloved character soon. Unfortunately, Ava (played by Maura West) has been swapping out his medication for placebos.
Given the nature of Sonny’s storyline on GH, many people have been concerned that it will end in Maurice Benard leaving the show. There has not been any indication from the actor that this is the case though.
Maurice recently opened up on an episode of his podcast “State Of Mind.” The GH star shared that he recently had a difficult time with his own mental health. He acknowledged that it could be due, in part, to the role he’s playing on the soap opera right now.
At the time he started to spiral, his wife and son were out of town. So, he found himself alone at home a lot, which didn’t help his mental health. He also felt like he was overridden with anxiety.
All of this forced him to take a step back from General Hospital for a couple of weeks. Thankfully, the writing team understood and Maurice was able to return once he was in a better mental state to do so.
