‘DWTS’ Maksim Chmerkovskiy Reveals Difficult Times With New Son
Dancing With The Stars pros Maks Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd just welcomed their new baby son. While they’re thrilled to be a family of five after struggling with infertility issues, a new baby also brings a lot of challenges.
How are Maks and Peta managing a household full of little boys, including a newborn?
Maks Chmerkovskiy & Peta Murgatroyd Are Feeling The Strains Of Parenthood
Maks Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd longed to grow their family for quite some time. Shortly after successfully delivering their second son, Rio, Peta announced she was expecting again. Baby Milan was born on July 12, 2024. Now, the Chmerkovskiys definitely have a full house.
Maks recently gave fans an update on how things were going in their household.
“I just want to check in. You guys were wondering what it’s like. It’s uh … interesting. It’s difficult,” the professional dancer shared on his Instagram stories. He showed off his family, revealing he’s been taking care of their middle son, Rio, since Peta has to tend to their new baby, Milan.
“And the 7-year-old sort of belongs to himself at the moment,” Maks continued, talking about Shai, his oldest son.
“And so, here’s the thought that I had,” the Ukrainian dancer continued. “I look at [Shai] and I’m like, ‘Damn, I miss the days when he was a baby. And then I turn around and I got a baby.”

As much as Peta and Maks adore their growing family, they admit it also comes with some physical challenges. In the video, Maks describes his shoulder feeling “stuck.” On top of that, Rio woke everyone up at 6:15 AM and refused to let anyone sleep in.
“He said no, and our day has begun,” Maks ended the video.
Peta Murgatroyd Reportedly Struggled During This Pregnancy
Just days before delivering baby Milan, Maks shared that Peta struggled as the pregnancy came to an end.
“Peta’s having a tough time right now. She’s [nearing the] finish line already, and [her belly is] very heavy for her body and for her frame. You know, this kid is a big one,” Maks told The Sun, just days before Milan was born. “Shai was a certain weight and height. Our second baby, Rio, is bigger by all sorts of standard measurements and all that. This kid, this third one, is supposed to be the biggest. I feel bad for Peta.”

Thankfully, Maks, Peta, and their three sons seem incredibly happy and healthy. Fans want nothing but the best for the family as they grow together.
