Pat Sajak Won’t Interfere With Ryan Seacrest & ‘Wheel Of Fortune’
Pat Sajak retired from Wheel of Fortune. While he has one more season to go on Celebrity Wheel of Fortune, Pat is finished with the main series. Taking his place is Ryan Seacrest, who is polarizing to many fans. However, if Ryan wants help from Pat, he is likely to be disappointed.
A source said that Pat Sajak is too busy to help Ryan, and even if he wasn’t, Pat reportedly has no desire to help Ryan get acclimated.
Pat Sajak Too Busy For Wheel Of Fortune
Pat Sajak left Wheel of Fortune and he seems to be enjoying his retirement. This comes even after sources claim the show forced Pat to retire before he was ready. This is one reason that Pat seems unwilling to help out even if Ryan calls and asks for help.
According to a Wheel of Fortune insider, Pat Sajak is staying really busy since leaving the show. The source also said that “Pat won’t interfere” with Ryan Seacrest taking over as the host. However, while that seems respectful, the source said it isn’t as nice as it sounds. Instead, the source said, “There’s no denying there’s a bitter satisfaction behind his motives” (via Closer Weekly).
What this means is that Pat Sajak wants to watch to see Ryan struggle, knowing that hosting Wheel of Fortune is not as easy as it looks. The source said that Sajak is “clearly resentful of the way he was treated and then kicked off the show.” They also said it looks like “a forced retirement, at least that’s what people were picking up.”
According to the source, Ryan has the ability to reach out and ask Pat for advice “but asking isn’t getting. Pat’s always going to be busy, or he’ll brush Ryan off with a neutral, ‘You got this.'”
Ryan has big shoes to fill, but it is nothing new. Ken Jennings replaced Alex Trebek on Jeopardy!, Drew Carey replaced Bob Barker on The Price is Right, and Steve Harvey replaced Richard Dawson on The Family Feud.
Pat Sajak Has Acting Aspirations
Pat Sajak is preparing to return to acting. He has worked in theater shows in Hawai’i several times in the past. His next role will be coming in the summer of 2025.
Pat, 77, landed a role in the community theater production called Prescription: Murder. He will act alongside his long-time friend Joe Moore. The two previously worked together in productions like The Odd Couple, The Honeymooners, The Boys in Autumn, Wrestling Ernest Hemingway, and Dial M for Murder.
