Hallmark Introduces Catrick Mahomes For Kansas City Chiefs Movie
A new Hallmark movie is coming to television. The film is a Christmas movie based around the Kansas City Chiefs. With so many Chiefs players that fans might want to see in the movie, two names rise to the top — Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce. However, some fans might do a double-take when they see who was cast.
The new Hallmark Christmas movie has cast Catrick Mahomes, and here is what you need to know.
Who Is Catrick Mahomes?
When Hallmark cast Catrick Mahomes in its new Christmas movie about the Kansas City Chiefs, many fans might have thought it was a misspelling. However, it is not misspelled at all. This is not Patrick Mahomes, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback. This is Catrick Mahomes. He is a cat.
Catrick Mahomes is a seven-year-old Bengal-Tabby mix, whose real name is Sly James the Cat. He even has an Instagram page. He became popular with Kansas City Chiefs fans when his owner, teacher Brandy Peed, dressed him up as Patrick Mahomes, including the curly hair. Every single game, Catrick Mahomes gets dressed up and becomes the team’s “good luck charm.”
“I think I’ve missed doing it a few times, and we did not win,” Peed said (via PEOPLE). “It’s almost a little bit of a jinx if I don’t. But we always go out all-out for Super Bowls!”
The cat became even more popular when Howard Stern invited it onto his show. Stern regular Richard Christy is also joining the Hallmark Christmas movie.
What Is The Hallmark Christmas Movie About?
First off, there are even more famous people in this Hallmark Christmas movie. Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid will appear in it. Travis Kelce’s mother, Donna, who became famous when she appeared in the press boxes with Taylor Swift, will also appear in the movie.

The movie is called Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story. Hunter King, Tyler Hynes, and Jenna Bush Hager are also all signed up to appear in the movie. Chiefs players Trey Smith, Mecole Hardman, Clyde Edwards-Helaire, and George Karlaftis all signed to appear along with actors Ed Begley Jr. (St. Elsewhere), Diedrich Bader (The Drew Carey Show), Megyn Price (Grounded For Life), Richard Riehle (Grounded For Life), and Christine Ebersole (Amadeus).
The Hallmark movie follows Alana Higman (Hunter King), who enters her family in a Chiefs Fan of the Year contest. She then meets Derrick (Hynes), the director of fan engagement for the team, and they fall in love.
