‘GMA’ Michael Strahan’s Daughter, Isabella Shares Best News Ever
Good Morning America anchor Michael Strahan has been fairly open about his daughter’s battle with brain cancer. Isabella first received her cancer diagnosis last fall and had to undergo several emergency surgeries. She’s managed to keep her followers up to date along the way. Now, she is back with a new update for fans just weeks after her final round of chemo. So, what’s the news she had to share?
Isabella Strahan Shares New Update On Cancer Journey
Isabella posted a vlog on her YouTube channel to share the latest news with her faithful followers. She has continued to update her YouTube series since her emergency surgery in October 2023. At the time, she was put into the operating room to urgently remove a large medulloblastoma from her cerebellum.
On Thursday, the 19-year-old model posted an update and titled her vlog, “Goodbye Hospital.” She revealed that she returned to Duke’s Children’s Hospital & Health Center in Durham, North Carolina. Isabella just had her chemotherapy port removed.
In the video, she shared how much pain she was in after having the port taken out. “My side hurts a lot. It feels like I got stabbed. I was like, ‘Oh it doesn’t hurt that much.’ I think it’s because all of the stuff wore off… I can’t stand up straight,” she said while wincing.
Isabella continued, “I also feel like the tube was going into my heart because my heart started cramping. I don’t know if that’s supposed to happen but… not enjoyable.” Showing her bandaged incision to the camera, she said, “It definitely doesn’t feel great.”
Michael Strahan’s Daughter Is Officially Cancer-Free
After having her port removed, she received an MRI to see if her cancer had been eradicated by the treatments she’d undergone. Michael Strahan’s daughter returned to the doctor to review the results. The video showed Isabella smiling ear-to-ear, sharing that she was finally cancer-free after eight months of battling the disease.
“It was a great, great scan. Everything was clear. Cancer-free and everything is great,” she said. “I don’t have another doctor’s appointment until October.”
Then, the vlogger added that she misses her doctors “already.” She said, “I feel like I’m just saddened today knowing that I wasn’t gonna be going back for a while because I love them so much. So, that was my last hospital vlog until October!”
In June, Michael Strahan’s daughter celebrated the end of her cancer treatment. Since her initial diagnosis in October, she went through three brain surgeries, four rounds of chemo, and six weeks of radiation.
She shared that she rang the bell at the children’s hospital. Michael Strahan, her sister Sophia, and other family and friends were by her side with bubbles, balloons, and homemade posters to show their support.
