‘Teen Mom’ Amber Portwood Blocked By Leah On Social Media
Amber Portwood has been blocked on social media by her daughter, Leah, following her breakup with her fiance Gary Wyat. Leah Shirley Blocked Amber Portwood On Instagram
According to the Instagram account @teenmomfanz, Amber Portwood’s daughter Leah blocked her mom on Instagram. The caption continued, “We reached out to a production source for more insight and we received this response: ‘Leah’s keeping her distance. That’s her mom, but the way things have played out on the show and in real-time has immensely affected their relationship.’”
In June, an episode of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter showed some of the tension between Amber Portwood and Leah Shirley. During the June 6 episode, it was Leah’s birthday and the family went out to dinner. She gave in and permitted her mom to attend her birthday dinner.
Not surprisingly, Amber showed up an hour late. However, that wasn’t even the worst part of it. As they were chatting at dinner, Amber brought up her new boyfriend, Gary. It was obvious that Leah didn’t want anything to do with the conversation but tried to be polite with her mom. At one point she told Amber, “I don’t want to see a picture,” referring to her new boyfriend.
After their exchange about her new beau, Leah asked her mom if she wanted more children. To everyone’s shock at the table, the Teen Mom star replied, “Yes, I do.” To which Leah responded, “As long as it makes you happy.”
Amber Portwood immediately became offended by her daughter’s response. She asked Leah, “What the f*** are you talking about?” Her daughter said that she “didn’t say nothing about him,” and Amber told her “That’s the point.” The exchange continued and the Teen Mom star told her daughter she was being “rude” and a “d***.”
The entire ordeal ended with Leah asking to go to the bathroom, in tears at her own birthday dinner.
Teen Mom Fans Applaud Leah For Setting Healthy Boundaries
Following the airing of the episode, Teen Mom fans were shocked at how Amber spoke to her child. Now that the news of Leah blocking Amber Portwood on social media has come out, most people aren’t surprised. In fact, many people are applauding Leah for doing so.
The news was shared on Reddit. Several people commented, hoping that Leah continues to “protect her peace.”
One person wrote, “Not surprised. She’s been wanting distance since she was a young child, and no one would support her in it. She was just told to keep trying cuz ‘tHaTs YoUr MoM.'” Another commented, “Girl is 15 and setting better healthy boundaries than I am at 33.”
While many are happy that Leah is setting healthy boundaries with her obviously toxic mother, others are concerned that Amber Portwood may lash out. “How long before Ambo goes on an instagram live rant about her?” one person asked. Another agreed, “Worries me. Amber will lash out and get crazy on leah for this. She’s an abuser.”
