Just recently, Richard Simmons was on a high in his life. He learned that they wanted to turn his life into an immersive Broadway musical. It would incorporate his zest for working out, sweating to the oldies if you will, with the story of how he came to be. This would be amazing for his fans who have watched the rise of Richard as well as those who credit him with helping them drop pounds. He was known for infomercials which promoted his weight loss tapes where he would mix smash hits from various decades with workout moves. More than anything, Richard made working out fun.
Eventually, he started to become reclusive which was scary for those who followed him for decades. A wellness check was performed and it turned out that he was just fine. Then, it was announced that Pauly Shore would be playing him in a movie. That did not sit well with Richard who spoke out about his disdain for the film. More so, he wanted it to be known that he had nothing to do with it which hurt Pauly Shore. However, he did say he had other opportunities and that he would be pursuing them. Sadly, the day after turning 76, he passed away.
According to TMZ, Richard Simmons’ housekeeper called authorities early on Saturday, July 13th. It was around 10 am and he was pronounced dead as soon as police and the fire department arrived. Currently, it is being billed as a death of natural causes with no foul play suspected. He was sharing a lot on his social media including his favorite Broadway moments. This was to celebrate the possibility of his life becoming a musical. Up until last night, he was thanking fans for all of the birthday love.
Devastating Moment
Upon learning about this, Richard Simmons’ fans were devastated. More so, this death came out of the blue and no one could have anticipated it. However, they immediately headed to his social media to send love and thanks for all his spirit had done:

It will never be the same without his love and light but hopefully, they can keep his legacy alive with the Broadway show.
