‘UnPrisoned’ Offers First-Look At John Stamos, Kerry Washington
UnPrisoned Season 2 is coming soon, and there is a new first look at the new season with John Stamos and Kerry Washington. UnPrisoned premiered in 2023 as a comedy starring Washington as a woman who faces past trauma when her father (Delroy Lindo) is released from prison after 17 years.
Here is a look at what fans can expect from UnPrisoned Season 2.
UnPrisoned Season 2 First-Look Released
In an exclusive clip for UnPrisoned Season 2, Paige (Washington) attends therapy with her father Edwin (Lindo) and her son Finn (Faly Rakotohavana). This session has some interesting results, and Paige is not happy to know what the therapist Murphy (John Stamos) is planning for them to face their issues.
This scene also plays out in the first trailer, as Murphy tells them, “[I can heal you] if that’s what you want. Is that what you want? Because you have to really want it. A lot of people can’t. A lot of people don’t dare.” However, Paige isn’t ready to trust him because she read his book, and she doesn’t consider what he does to be “real therapy.”
Murphy is then blunt. He tells her that she can take years trying to figure things out on their own. Or, he can help them — and he doesn’t take insurance. The two then have more back and forth between them and it seems like this might be the best new relationship of the second season.
What Is UnPrisoned Season 2 About?
UnPrisoned Season 1 saw Washington play Paige, a single mother trying to raise her son the best she can. However, when her father gets out of prison after a long stint there, she has to face up to her past, her shortcomings, and her realization that her son is growing up and wants to know more about his own dad.
Paige is a therapist herself, but she isn’t able to help herself, which is why they reach out to Murphy. While she doesn’t trust him and thinks his methods are wrong, it looks like she is taking his advice in the trailers and trying to fix herself.
Stamos, 60, made his name as Blackie Parrish, a bad boy singer on General Hospital. However, most fans today know him as Uncle Jesse on Full House, who he played for several years, and as Dr. Tony Gates on ER. He is the newest cast member in UnPrisoned, which also features Brenda Strong and Tim Daly in recurring roles and Marque Richardson as Edwin’s case worker.
UnPrisoned Season 2 premieres on Hulu on Wednesday, July 17.
