Fans seem to be growing bored of the Kardashians on social media. Several of the most recent posts from members of the infamous family have had extremely low engagement with their followers. Now, social media experts are taking a closer look and think the Kardashian clan might actually be buying likes. Continue reading to see what you think.

Engagement Is Low On The Kardashians’ Brands

Generally, celebrities like the Kardashians with more than 1 million followers on Instagram are expected to have between one and five percent engagement. However, their accounts are far from that level of performance.

Khloe Kardashian‘s Good American clothing company’s Instagram page had a 0.02% engagement level from its 2.4 million followers. It is rare that more than a few hundred people like any one of the posts on that page. That may be because it has been discovered that 47% of Good America’s followers are not engaging and only 50% are real people online.

Her sister Kim Kardashian isn’t fairing much better on her Skims clothing and SKKN cosmetics pages either. Skims has an engagement rate of 0.09% and SKKN sits at 0.05% engagement. With 6 million followers on Skims and 5.7 million followers for SKKN, a few thousand likes per post is next to nothing. Seventy-five percent of SKKN’s followers are real, but nearly one-quarter of them are “non-engaging.”

The matriarch of the family isn’t doing much better. Kris Jenner‘s homeward brand, Get Safely, only has about 150,000 followers, and the likes on posts rarely hit 100. It only has an engagement rate of 0.08%.

Poosh, Kourtney Kardashian‘s company, is doing a little bit better at 0.15%. All in all, Kylie Jenner‘s presence on social media seems to be the best. While her toddler clothing company Kyliebaby only has a 0.18% engagement rate, her clothing brand Khy has an astounding 15%.

Expert Says They Are Buying Bots To Follow Pages

Given the numbers, some experts have begun to wonder if the Kardashians are paying for bots to follow their accounts. Coralee Trigger, an award-winning digital creator, believes they are doing this without a doubt.

She said, “It’s a safe bet that the Kardashians use Botox for their bodies and bots for their brands. Believing the Kardashian brands on social media have grown without any help from bots is like believing the Kardashians look the way they do without any help from Botox.”

Coralee continued, “There are so many ways to artificially inflate social media followings, and it wouldn’t be surprising if the Kardashians are leveraging any number of those methods to enhance their brands.”

Then, she added, “Even though these practices are technically against most social media platforms’ terms of use, and I never recommend them to clients, you might be surprised by how many of your favorite brands have employed shady methods to grow large followings.”
