He may have been deceased for over forty years but John Belushi has an incredible legacy. He was known for a plethora of characters on SNL as well as being on half of The Blues Brothers. In fact, he exited SNL along with Dan Aykroyd in 1978 to film the movie under the same name. Additionally, Belushi was known for National Lampoon’s Animal House. His timing solidified him as a comedic actor and icon who was unmatched. Sadly, in 1982, he was given a combination of heroin and cocaine which led to his untimely death. Belushi was just 33 when he died but his legacy has lived on.

The Blues Brothers kept playing with John Goodman and Belushi’s brother, Jim, stepping in to keep the music and movies coming. Even Belushi’s widow, Judy was determined to keep his legacy alive but the overdose hit her very hard. According to TMZ, she was trying to turn The Blues Brothers into a television series. That is how much she believed in Belushi and his vision. The duo met in high school and started their courtship which led to marriage. Eight years after his overdose, Judy wed Victor Pisano and now, she is reunited with Belushi at the age of 73.

Per an Instagram post on John Belushi’s page, a formal announcement was made regarding her passing. The Hollywood Reporter shared she passed due to a long battle with cancer. A beautiful slide of photos showcased the couple’s young love for one another. It ended with Judy and how much she loved being a part of The Blues Brothers family. Much credit was given to Judy for allowing this creative vision to flourish.

Immediately, love for John Belushi’s widow poured in as fans and friends were saddened to hear of her passing:

  • I’m sorry to hear of her passing. I bet her and John had one hell of a reunion wherever their spirits are.
  • I’m heart broken. Was just texting her about the album she made…hugged her at the SNL 40th… so glad I got to know her. RIP Judy
  • Godspeed, Judy. You were always very kind to me during the filming of Neighbors. What an amazing couple finally back together again.🕶️❤️


No word from her present husband or what their status is. All fans and friends can think about is the reunion she and John are currently having. Rest in peace, Judy. Thank you for all you did.
