Ever since the When Calls The Heart Season 11 finale entitled “Anything For Love,” Team Lucas has been on all social media platforms concerned about whether or not Chris McNally is coming back. On Twitter, Chris McNally confirmed he is returning for WCTH Season 12. On Sunday, after the WCTH Season 11 finale, he wrote, “#hearties thank you for joining us on S11. Looking forward to beginning S12 in a few weeks and seeing what’s next for Hope Valley ❤️❤️❤️”
The Hallmark series starts production in Vancouver at the Jamestown Film Set on Monday, July 15. They should finish production by early November.
When Calls The Heart Showrunner Talks About Capital City Change
In a recent interview with Official Hearties Admins podcast, When Calls The Heart showrunner Lindsay Sturman was asked whether Chris McNally would be returning for Season 12. In addition, they asked if it was going to be for the full season. There was concern that Governor Bouchard’s duties would keep him in Capital City, thus not part of the series. The showrunner confirmed that Lucas would be back. Moreover, she shared an important tidbit. They are expanding the Capital City set so that they can do more scenes.
Absolutely, yes. And we actually expanded our set in Capital City so we can do more with it. Chris is one of our leads and he will absolutely be back and we can’t wait to tell these stories.
Next, the showrunner was asked if there would be some romance for Lucas. She confirmed that there would be “some love” for Lucas in Season 12. However, it was pointed out that even at the end of the season, Lucas still has a boatload of problems. He has not moved forward with solutions.
Sturman insists that as Lucas faces many challenges, he will become “wiser and stronger.” Therefore, Team Lucas fans, it looks like he is not done facing challenges.
