Eddie Murphy Shares Shocking Feelings On ‘The Golden Bachelor’
Like many other Americans, comedian Eddie Murphy tuned into The Golden Bachelor.
It was supposed to be a brand new chapter in Bachelor Nation history, but things didn’t necessarily go according to plan. After a televised marriage, Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist called off their marriage after a mere three months.
Now, Eddie Murphy is sharing his true feelings on the breakup. And he isn’t holding anything back.
Eddie Murphy Is Angry About The Golden Bachelor Breakup
While many Bachelor Nation fans initially felt excited about The Golden Bachelor, fans found the aftermath incredibly disappointing. Eddie Murphy was no different.
Murphy appeared on The Interview podcast to discuss a variety of topics. And of course, his feelings about The Golden Bachelor came up. He went on an expletive-laced rant about the end result.
“Hey, they broke up, too. You know they broke up,” the Shrek star said about The Golden Bachelor leads. Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist announced their split in April after their January wedding.
“What kind of s— is that? Three months later. I watched that s—, I was like, ‘This is so nice, they found love in the second part of they life. This is a nice show. Bravo!’ Then I find motherf—– broke up three months later. The same old s—,” Murphy shared.
He didn’t say whether or not he will continue watching the series. Joan Vassos is the first confirmed Golden Bachelorette, so there will be at least one more season of the franchise.
However, after the massive disappointment following The Golden Bachelor, many fans wouldn’t be surprised to learn if Eddie Murphy never watched Bachelor Nation shows again.
Plenty of couples from the franchise have poor track records, but fans sincerely had high hopes for Gerry and Theresa.
The Actor Admits To Loving Reality Television
After expressing his disappointment over The Golden Bachelor, Eddie Murphy went on to describe the other shows he watches.
“It’s not hip stuff,” the actor admitted. “I’m not ashamed to say it. I watch every night, at 6 o’clock, right at dinner, I watch Steve Harvey and Family Feud. And on Tuesdays, I watch The Masked Singer.”
He added that he and his partner Paige Butcher love all the competition shows, particularly singing shows.
“I be like, ‘Nah, I ain’t supposed to be watching no s— like this. Then you say, ‘I wonder who that turtle is?’ That s— pull you in, you be wondering who it is,” Murphy confessed his guilty pleasure.
