ABC’s announcement in March that Jenn Tran was the next Bachelorette caused a mixed reaction from fans of the show. Some were happy the network finally cast its first Asian-American lead. But others were surprised that Daisy Kent or Maria Georgas didn’t get the job.
Both Daisy and Maria publicly stated that they were offered the gig but turned it down. The implication was that Jenn Tran was the third choice. But she shut that narrative down on a podcast. She said the other two were in consideration but the network chose her.
Eagle-eyed Bachelor Nation fans noticed that Maria Georgas seemingly unfollowed Jenn Tran on social media following her podcast interview, sparking rumors of a feud.
Maria Georgas Has Shady Response To Drama
Maria Georgas did nothing to quell the feud talk. In fact, she fanned the flames with a shady response. She shared a TikTok video featuring Bachelor co-star Lauren Hollinger, who self-eliminated on the season’s second episode.
Maria lip-synced to a TikTok sound asking if she was the drama as Lauren shook her head no. The next part of the sound asked “Am I the villain?” and Lauren again indicated no.
However, Bachelor Nation fans on Reddit thought that Maria Georgas was the villain for her shady behavior toward Jenn Tran.
