‘GMA’ Michael Strahan & Robin Roberts MIA From Hosting, Why?
Michael Strahan and Robin Roberts were notably missing from several recent Good Morning America episodes. Some familiar faces have substituted for the two hosts, but many fans have been wondering where the popular regular hosts have been. There is actually a good reason for their absence.

Good Morning America Fans Missing Michael Strahan & Robin Roberts
Good Morning America has been without two of its most popular hosts in several recent episodes. Michael Strahan and Robin Roberts missed the episodes; some familiar faces replaced them at the hosting desk. On Monday, George Stephanopoulos returned to hosting while ABC News’s Gio Benitez and Rebecca Jarvis filled in for Michael and Robin.
Rebecca, who recently replaced Robin for over a week, replaced her again on Tuesday. Linsey Davis replaced Michael. Last week, Robin missed a lot of time as she was in Portugal on vacation. Robin and her wife, Amber Laign, actually started the vacation early because GMA wanted to film parts of the Portugal trip.
So, while Robin wasn’t on the show, many segments about her trip were shown throughout the week, showcasing Portugal’s people, places, food, and culture. There has been no indication of when Robin will return to her desk on Good Morning America.
Where Has Michael Strahan Been From Good Morning America
While Robin Roberts has been in Portugal, the reason for Michael Strahan’s absence is different. Michael appeared in episodes of Good Morning America, and he started missing time this week.
Michael Strahan might have missed Good Morning America because he was celebrating a significant moment in his daughter’s health issues. Isabella Strahan, 19, finished her third round of chemotherapy. She has been counting down to the moment she finally finished her final treatments.
Isabella was headed to college at USC as a freshman last year when she began dealing with migraines. She went in to get checked out and received a medulloblastoma diagnosis. The doctors removed a malignant brain tumor. The recovery has been hard, and she had to have two different procedures, where doctors drilled into the back of her head to remove fluid from her brain.
Michael Strahan might have missed time on GMA, but he sent in a motivational video on Monday. He said, “Stay engaged, stay focused, and conquer your Monday like a champ! Let’s speak milestones.” The biggest milestones for Strahan right now has to be his daughter coming through her last treatment and preparing to return to college again later this year.
