‘The Sandlot’ Thomas Guiry Arrested On Charge Of Assault & Battery
The Sandlot star Thomas Guiry has been arrested on charges of assault and battery. The forty-three-year-old was taken into custody on Sunday, June 2nd, 2024. So, what exactly happened to cause this? Keep reading for all of the details.
The Sandlot Thomas Guiry Arrested On Charge Of Assault & Battery
Thomas Guiry made a name for himself as a child actor. He appeared in such classics as The Sandlot playing Scotty Smalls and Lassie. Guiry even had roles in films like Black Hawk Down and Mystic River. As the years went by, however, generations discovered him as Smalls and never forgot him. Now, at forty-three, he is married and has three children but something went amiss at the beginning of June. According to People, the actor was charged with third-degree assault and battery and malicious injury to personal property. It all went down in Horry County, South Carolina.
The incident initially occurred in Myrtle Beach between Guiry and a neighbor. There was a trespassing/disturbance call that law enforcement responded to. Allegedly, Guiry came onto his neighbor’s property and smashed his Jeep’s windshield. The actor used a 35-pound dumbbell to inflict the damage. After he did this, Guiry went on to allegedly say:
“That sucks, man, I’ll pay you back, I’m sorry, I’m gonna get you back.”
Thomas Guiry also supposedly came to his door while holding a knife, the neighbor explained to the cops. Once the police arrived on the scene, The Sandlot star admitted what he had done and was soon arrested then taken to J. Reuben Long Detention Center.
He spent one day in jail before he was released on one thousand dollars bond. This is not the first time Guiry has been in trouble with the law. Back in 2013, the actor was arrested for supposedly head-butting a cop at an airport. This was due to the fact he was told he was too drunk to get on the plane. His career has moved away from acting and into a regular lifestyle. As aforementioned, he is married and has children. More so, in 2018, he shared that he was working at Whole Foods.
This Really Happened
After TMZ released the footage of The Sandlot star bashing the windshield like it was nothing, fans immediately had a lot to say. They also saw him standing shirtless at his neighbor’s door holding a knife so they headed to the comment:
- The way he walked off is killing me.
- I think the knife is more concerning.
- Uh he answered the door with a knife?! Looks drunk af, too…
- That was literally the heaviest dumbell he could lift
Of course, some fans quoted the movie but others could not believe Thomas Guiry threw the dumbbell and had a knife. Moreover, they were disturbed by the whole situation.
