Another popular network show might be losing a key regular. However, in this case, it might be more than that because there are rumors that 9-1-1: Lone Star might be coming to an end completely. The star is Sierra McClain, and the news is that she is leaving the series as 9-1-1 operator Grace Ryder.

Here is what you need to know about McClain leaving 9-1-1: Lone Star and the possible fate of the series.

Grace Is Leaving 9-1-1: Lone Star

Sierra McClain has left 9-1-1: Lone Star. The actress, who plays 9-1-1 operator Grace Ryder, will exit the series as it prepares to enter its fifth season this fall. In addition to the exit of one of the show’s biggest stars, there are also heavy rumors that this fifth season will be its last.

9-1-1: Lone Star returns to TV after taking a hiatus thanks to the writer’s strike last year. The fifth season, which will air this fall, will have 12 episodes for the season. However, according to Deadline, this might be its last. It appears that Grace won’t be back at all for the possible final season.

As for the show ending, that news came thanks to Robyn Lively, who plays Marlene Harris (the mother of Judd’s (Jim Parrack) son). She wrote on social media, “So excited to be a part of @911lonestar’s final season!! What a ride it’s been!” However, she deleted the post, and a representative for the show has not answered requests for comments.

Deadline also reported that many of the series regulars have already been looking for new roles, suggesting that things are wrapping up. The remaining cast is locked into options until July 19 (when the season wraps shooting).

According to the reports, McClain was involved with some “cast renegotiation drama.” Late last year, many cast members attempted contract renegotiations and were unsuccessful. With no renegotiations, the show will likely end after the fifth season.

Why Is It Hard To Bring Back 9-1-1: Lone Star?

9-1-1: Lone Star is in a challenging position. It airs on Fox TV, but when Disney acquired Fox, it did not include the Fox TV network and its dramas. A year after Disney acquired Fox, the network canceled The Resident and moved the original 9-1-1 to ABC (the Disney television network).

That means that 9-1-1: Lone Star is the only 20th Century Fox TV drama remaining on Fox. This has caused problems with the economics of keeping shows like this around, which is why this will likely be the last season before Fox eliminates all the shows owned by the now-Disney-owned corporation.

Will you miss Grace when the fifth season of 9-1-1: Lone Star arrives this fall? If this is the last season, will you miss the show? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
