Steve Irwin Still Loved By People All Over The World

Steve Irwin garnered millions of fans around the world, as he became known as The Crocodile Hunter. Besides wrestling Crocs, putting himself in dangerous situations without fear, and winning audiences over with his sense of humor and authenticity, he was also a proud family man.

Tragically, Steve Irwin lost his life in 2006. He was killed by a stingray while filming in the Great Barrier Reef. The stingray’s barb pierced his chest, and he lost his life out in the field, surrounded by nature, and the very animals he loved being around and educating millions about.

In honor of Steve, Terri, Bindi, and Robert continue to run Australia Zoo, a major tourist attraction “located an hour north of Brisbane on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast,” according to the official website. They have a passionate team of animal lovers and conservationists who continue to work hard to maintain Steve Irwin’s vision, and people continue to visit year after year.

Another way that the Irwin family keeps Steve’s memory alive is by letting Bindi’s young daughter watch her grandfather’s old scenes. It’s a way for her daughter, Grace, to grow up knowing her grandfather. According to Bindi, her dad “was the same person in real life as he was on screen, so I feel like Grace is able to grow up knowing him.”
