‘Jeopardy!’ Fans Predict Hosts For New Pop Culture Spinoff

There is a new Jeopardy! spinoff series is coming. This version of the hit game show will focus on a different group of viewers, as the show will be about Pop Culture. The series will air on Prime Video and fans are already lining up to create a list of favorites who could serve as the host.

Here is a look at the possibilities for the hosts of the Jeopardy! Pop Culture spinoff series.

What Is The New Jeopardy! Spinoff Series?

The new Jeopardy! spinoff series will focus on Pop Culture questions and clues. This is an interesting spinoff because pop culture is usually one of the areas most successful contestants have the most trouble with. While they are often book-smart and intelligent, they are mostly unaware of what the rest of the world enjoys.

That means the new spinoff series is more geared towards regular people who might not know British royalty history but do know about movies, TV shows, books, and video games. Pop Culture Jeopardy! will be coming to Prime Video and will combine the academic rigor of Jeopardy! with pop culture knowledge.

Examples of categories on the show include Alternative Rock, The Avengers, Broadway, MMA, Gen Z, and even Zendaya. While it spans all things pop culture, contestants still need to have a wide knowledge of topics to win the game. Some fans feel this is “dumbing down” the game.

However, it is still a knowledge of trivia, which is all the original Jeopardy! is anyway. Instead of knowing Shakespeare, fans need to know more about Stephen King. The only difference is being intelligent about old trivia or knowing what is popular in today’s world.

Who Should Host Pop Culture Jeopardy!?

With such a change of pace for the spinoff game, fans have started looking at who might be best to host the show. Michael Davies remains the EP, but the host remains unknown for now. Ken Jennings will not host the show. There are several people that Jeopardy! fans think would be perfect for the role (via US Sun).

Katie Nolan is a former ESPN host and was the runner-up in Celebrity Jeopardy! in 2023. Katie even re-tweeted the casting call for the new show.

Buzzy Cohen is a former Jeopardy! champion who already worked as a host during the 2024 tournament after Mayim Bialik left the series. He is the only person other than Ken or Mayim to host since they were hired.

Sam Buttrey, 63, was a finalist in the 2022 Tournament of Champions and the 2023 Masters spin-off.

Levar Burton might be one of the biggest fan favorites to take the spot. Burton wanted to host Jeopardy! when the original job came open. Mayim and Ken won the jobs instead. Having the Reading Rainbow creator come on board could be huge.

Who do you want to see host Pop Culture Jeopardy!? Are any of the choices here perfect or do you have someone else in mind? Let us know in the comments below.
