Why Fans Think ‘Bluey’ Is Coming To An End
Season 3 of Bluey came to an emotional ending and many people think that this surprise finale points to the series being over. Now, fans have taken to online forums to discuss whether or not the beloved cartoon series will return for a fourth season.
Bluey‘s Latest Episode Is A ‘Full Circle’ Moment
First, Disney+ released an extra-long episode. Typically, an episode of Bluey is under 10 minutes long. So, the extended episode called “The Sign” made fans curious about whether or not the show was getting ready to wrap up production for good. The episode’s story showed Bluey and Bingo and their parents, Bandit and Chilli, preparing to move away from their longtime home.
Now, the latest episode called “Surprise” left viewers in tears. While the Heeler family wound up staying in the house they’ve always known as the home on the show, this new episode brought an unexpected turn for the family. You get to see a grown-up Bluey going back home to the very same house to visit her parents. Fans also got a glimpse at Bluey’s child from the future.
Since the episode aired, viewers have taken to social media to talk about how they loved to see grown-up Bluey look more like her father. Several people also debated about her child’s father. Most believe it is either Mackenzie or Jean Luc.
This episode of Season 3 felt full circle and very “final.” Fans got online to discuss the possibility that it may be the conclusion to Bluey altogether.
“For a show that isn’t ending, the last two eps sure FELT like a series finale + epilogue,” one fan wrote on X. “I agree,” another person shared.
Bluey Producer Denies The End Of The Series
Head of children and family at ABC, Libbie Doherty, previously revealed that “Surprise” was kept a secret from viewers until it aired. They even “accidentally” ran the wrong episode description in the TV guide.
“Bluey’s hallmark charm is that it is always surprising, and we love to do things differently to keep the fans thinking,” Doherty said. “Our intention was for the fans to wake up to their usual ABC Kids Sunday 8 a.m. slot and be blown away by a brand-new episode.”
However, what fans have been most concerned with is whether or not this was the final episode in the series. Sam Moor, the show producer for Bluey has already given viewers inside details on what to expect next. Before the release of this emotional episode, Moor said that there are a lot more stories to be told about the Heeler family and the “Bluey-verse.”
“It is the question on everybody’s lips,” she said. “No, [‘The Sign’] is not the end for Bluey. I’m sure we have many more surprises in store for you,” she added. “We have more in store and we are thinking what would be next.”
